CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: TRUMPET SUMMIT WITH GREG GISBERT, BRANDON LEE, AND BRUCE HARRIS
Proving true the mantra that "all jazz is modern," three contemporary trumpeters, Greg Gisbert, Brandon Lee, and Bruce Harris, will pay homage to the "unsung" trumpet greats of the 1940s and 1950s with "Trumpet Summit" at DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Tuesday, October 8th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Joined by a rhythm section of Dizzy's veterans - Pete Van Nostrand, Russell Hall, and Michael Weiss - this trio of leading trumpet talent will take you on a tour of the best of what slipped under the radar decades ago. For the jazz scholars, this evening will be an engaging history lesson at the club, and for everyone, it will be a night of top-notch trumpet music. There is a $30 cover.
