Suzanne Carrico will celebrate the Christmas season & her holiday CD, WHAT CHRISTMAS TIME MEANS TO ME, at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 ), with one show only on Saturday, December 17th at 4:00 pm. She will be joined by her musical director Don Rebic. Also joining her will be talented director, life & duet partner Booth Daniels. On the CD are tunes ranging from the popular ("Silver Bells," "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" by Irving Berlin & "Baby It's Cold Outside/Let It Snow" by the wonderful Frank Loesser, Jule Styne & Sammy Cahn) to the spiritual ("What Child is This," "Little Drummer Boy," "Do You Hear What I Hear" & "Gesu Bambino") to an original tune by Musical Director Don Rebic, "Merry Christmas to Us All." This is a holiday show for the whole family - and of course, Christmas cookies will be served. Baby Jane Dexter's brand new show, Still Bad, Still Blue debuts at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for eight performances only, beginning Friday, November 25th and running on consecutive Fridays & Saturdays through December 23rd (performance on December 17th is at 9:30 pm). Sharing the stage will be her respected musical partner Ross Patterson. Elissa Patterson serves as artistic consultant. Still Bad, Still Blue is another powerful, inspiring and light-hearted potpourri of unique songs and arrangements given Ms. Dexter's one of a kind haunting spin. The show features an eclectic song list including gems by the likes of Jimmy McHugh & Dorothy Fields, Abbey Lincoln, Clyde Otis, Bessie Smith, Irma Thomas, Stephen Sondheim - and many more. This new show will contain some potent musical moments along with her trademark blend of profound and artistically whimsical bon mots. Critics and peers have honored her through the years and she has received six major MAC Awards, two Nightlife Awards and two Back Stage Bistro Awards. A veteran of legendary clubs like Reno Sweeney and The Ballroom, Ms. Dexter has performed at all the major New York venues and throughout the country over the years. As always, Baby Jane challenges as much as she inspires. That is the hallmark that has sustained her extraordinary night club career. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
Tony Award winner Alice Ripley will perform solo concerts titled Alice Ripley's Daily Practice at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE(407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Tuesday, December 6th, Friday, December 9th, Sunday, December 11th & Friday, December 16th, all shows at 10:30 pm. The concerts will feature what's being billed as an eclectic mix of well known songs and new compositions. Ripley's other stage credits include Side Show, The Rocky Horror Show, James Joyce's The Dead, Sunset Boulevard and The Who's Tommy. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

Four of Boston's very best cabaret artists will gather to present "Tinsel & Tunes" at CLUB CAFE (209 Columbus Avenue, Boston, MA - 617-536-0966) on Thursday, December 15th at 7:30 pm. Performers include Lynda D'Amour, Brian De Lorenzo, Jan Peters & Randy Zinkus with musical direction by Mr. Tom LaMark. The production is conceived and directed by J. McDonald. The singers offer traditional and not-so-traditional Christmas music and also share funny and poignant monologues with their personal thoughts about the Christmas season. Additionally, there is an audience sing-a-long and a moving moment in the show where the cast sings in only candle light. Just in the 'Nick' of time, cabaret legend Ricky Ritzel and cabaret legend (in his own mind) Daryl Glenn are back (for the very first time!) at DON'T TELL MAMA(343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) with their timeless and timely smash-up of two classic musical versions of "A Christmas Carol" with performances on Wednesdays, December 7th and 14th at 7:00 pm. They are joined by newcomer Alison Nusbaum. Join these crazy kids as they warble their way through every single marvelous song (except that one dreadful one, which they cut!) from Leslie Bricusse's "Scrooge" and Jule Styne and Bob Merrill's "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol". Maureen Taylor returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for 3 performances of her show "Too Marvelous! Tribute To Lauren Bacall". Shows are scheduled for Tuesday, December 13th at 7:00 pm and Sundays, December 11th & 18th at 4:00 pm. The show is directed by Jay Rogers. Music Director is John DiPinto, with Terese Genecco on drums and Marc Schmied on bass. Maureen received much acclaim for her show "TAYLOR MADE: BOB MERRILL". Now she takes up the life of Lauren Bacall; she has presence, charisma, the force and the authority that only the richest life experience can convey. She was no ordinary girl then, just as today she is no ordinary woman. In fact, she is an extraordinary one!
