2010 MAC and Bistro Award Winner Julie Reyburn returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) for an encore performance of her acclaimed show, 'SUMMER NIGHT ... IN NOVEMBER", on Sunday November 28th at 7:00 pm. Featuring works by Cy Coleman, Harold Arlen, James Taylor, William Finn, Henry Mancini and more, "Summer Night" weaves an emotional journey with unique interpretation and classic arrangements. Joining her will be Music Director Mark Janas with Ritt Henn on Bass and Walter Usiatynski on Drums. The show is directed by Lennie Watts and produced by Jeff Hamblin. Julie is a 2010 Bistro and MAC Award recipient who has appeared in many of the top clubs in Manhattan. Her ability to connect to a lyric with unique interpretations has established her as one of New York's celebrated female vocalist. To celebrate the December release of his first official studio album, "Haunted," on the Miranda Music label, Marcus Simeone returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for 2 more performances, on Saturdays, December 4th & 11th at 9:30 pm. Marcus has assembled a powerful set filled with emotional highs and humorous moments in his most risky show to date. With this new show, Marcus will bring highlights from his new album ("Haunted") which features many of today's contemporary songwriters accompanying him on their own songs, such as John Bucchino, Tracy Stark, Heather Sullivan, etc., backed by some of today's most acclaimed musicians. The album is scheduled to be released in December with a special event at the last show on Saturday, December 11th. This latest show will also celebrate a decade working in the clubs of New York since his auspicious debut at Don't Tell Mama. He has gone on to win acclaim on the national stage performing in theaters and clubs in Manhattan, Chicago, Florida and Palm Springs as well as performing at the Cabaret Conventions at Town Hall and Jazz At Lincoln Center. Along the way, he has also received nine MAC nominations and won three, as well as receiving the Bistro Award. This summer, he was invited to sing on a recording with Reba McIntyre in Nashville. NYC's well-known wacky musical comedy sister duo of Vickie and Nickie, played by real life sisters Lisa and Lori Brigantino, are returning to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) for one night only on Saturday, December 4th at 6:00 pm to perform their new holiday show, Vickie & Nickie's Holiday Sleigh Ride! - a celebration of the holiday season Minnesotan-style! The sisters will take the audience on a zany journey as they share their rise to "fame", family stories and their own special take on the holidays and the world today. The Brigantino sisters premiered their last new show Inside Vickie & Nickie! at Don't Tell Mama in July to rave reviews. During the course of their shows they intertwine pop and original songs with dialogue, improv and audience participation all while accompanying themselves on many different instruments including acoustic guitars, keyboard, accordion, saxophone, violin, ukuleles, percussion and more. In a special performance for the LGBT Event: Ladies 2000, Judy Gold will be performing at BOB EGAN'S NEW HOPE - SUPPER CLUB AND CABARET (6426 Lower York Road (Route 202), New Hope, PA - 215-862-5225 - ) on Sunday, November 28th at 3:00 pm. Judy Gold is an Emmy Award winning actress and comedian. She is best known as the star of the critically acclaimed, long-running Off-Broadway hit show "25 Questions for a Jewish Mother" for which she was nominated for a 2006 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance. A book based on the show was nominated for the prestigious Quill Award. Ms. Gold can be seen regularly on HLN's "The Joy Behar Show", ABC's "The View" & Tru-TV's "The Smoking Gun Presents". Cabaret favorites Tommy Femia and Rick Skye are teaming up for an evening of "Just POW!" in "Judy and Liza Together Again" for six performances at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - ). These MAC Award winning performers (Best Impersonation) will pull out all the stops, singing classic solo's, parodies, duets and just plain whooping and hollering by the greatest mother/daughter team in show biz history. Next show is on Saturday, November 27th at 8:30 pm. David Maiocco as Mort Lindsay will musical direct (Ricky Ritzel subs in November). Tommy Femia is a 7 time winner of the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) Award for his brilliant portrayal of Judy Garland in "Judy Garland LIVE!", now in it's 20th season at Don't Tell Mama. He has also starred in "Whoop-de-doo", "I Will Come Back" and, most recently, "Norma Does Men". Rick Skye is best known for writing a string of outrageous comic revues including "The Flip Side of Neil Sedaka", "MaCabaret - a tabloid fable", "The War of the Mama Roses", "It's Madame with an E" and the International hit - "A Slice O' Minnelli" for which has enjoyed successful season's in Covent Garden, at the Apollo Theatre in London's West End and at the Dublin Theatre Festival where he received the Award for "Best Achievement in Performance". "Judy and Liza Together Again" recently premiered in Ft Lauderdale to great acclaim and marked the first pairing of these two remarkable talents. Starting Sunday, November 28th, legendary cult British performer and song stylist Barb Jungr plays in 4 major US cities, some for the first time with her critically acclaimed show The Men I Love (also a new studio album on Naim Records). She opens at the celebratedJOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE(425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) in New York City on the 28th at 9:30 pm, then plays for the first time for 2 nights in Cleveland's Nighttown, 4 nights at Kranzberg Arts Center presented by Cabaret St. Louis, and 2 nights in San Francisco's Rrazz Room at Hotel Nikko. The Men I Love displays Barb's impressive ability to re-imagine well-known popular songs, revealing deep meanings and latent emotional content that comes to light when she dislodges the songs from their original contexts. Since its release in March 2010 the CD has received rave reviews and accolades internationally. The Men I Love comprises songs by Dylan, Cohen, Springsteen, Paul Simon, David Byrne and more in superb new arrangements by Barb and pianist & composer Simon Wallace, with whom Barb previously worked on her best-selling album of Bob Dylan songs and her chansons material for Linn Records. THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL (155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100) launches it's Fall Cabaret Season with Broadway and concert hall mega-star Avery Sommers on Friday & Saturday, November 26th & 27th at 8:00 pm. Local favorite Avery Sommers is returning to The Colony Hotel for her fourth engagement since making her Royal Room debut in August 2008. She recently returned from NYC where she wowed the musically savvy crowd attending the closing night of the Mabel Mercer Foundation's 25th anniversary Cabaret Convention in Lincoln Center, and also headlined a knock-out run at The Metropolitan Room, one of Manhattan's finest cabarets. Avery starred on Broadway in the long running, critically acclaimed musicals Ain't Misbehavin' (where she replaced Nell Carter) and Showboat, and in two national tours: Chicago with Joel Grey and Chita Rivera and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas with Ann-Margret. A frequent co-star of Burt Reynolds (B.L. Stryker, The Man from Left Field), she also starred in Menopause, the Musical and as Bloody Mary in South Pacific. In addition, she produced and co-starred in the film Hiding Victoria with Anita Gillette. Last year, Avery released her powerhouse solo CD, You're Gonna Hear from Me. Baby Jane Dexter's eagerly awaited new show, The Real World debuts at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for eight performances beginning Friday, November 26th and running on consecutive Fridays & Saturdays through December 18th, all shows at 7:30 pm. Sharing the stage will be her acclaimed musical partner Ross Patterson. Elissa Patterson serves as artistic consultant. The Real World is a powerful, inspiring and funny potpourri of unique songs and arrangements given Ms. Dexter's one of a kind haunting spin. The eclectic song list includes gems by the likes of Billie Holiday, Janis Ian, Roy Orbison, John Sebastian, Alec Wilder and many more. Edd Clark and Sue Matsuki kick off the holiday season by bringing a new version of their annual sell-out Sue & Edd's FABULOUS Christmas Show, opening on Saturday, November 27th at 9:00 pm at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444 ). The show will feature Sheldon Forrest at the piano, and very special guest Shelly Goldstein. Sue's jazzy and Edd's legit; she's a multi-MAC Award winner and he's a Bistro Award winner; together they're returning with their annual show to ring in the holiday season! It's time to break out the hot toddies, hot chocolate, and cookies! Music director, Paul Stephan has created arrangements for these award winning singers that make Sue and Edd's FABULOUS Christmas Show a celebration of the wonderful music of the Christmas and a perfect way to get into the spirit of the season. The show features new takes on such familiar holiday carols, new holiday classics such as "Warm as Winter" by Nick Levin, and a new song "Christmas Angel" written specially for the show by Sue and Paul and currently featured on Christine Lavin's new holiday CD "One More Angel".
