SF: JEFFERSON STARSHIP CELEBRATES HISTORIC MILESTONE AT THE RRAZZ

The legendary band Jefferson Starship will perform their 2,000th Show since launching in 1974 atRRAZZ ROOM at THE HOTEL NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-394-1189) Wednesday through Sunday, January 25th through 29th. Showtimes Monday through Friday are at 8:00 pm, with shows on Saturday the 28th at 7:00 & 9:30 pm and on Sunday the 29th at 7:00 pm. The special acoustic/electric themed performances shall feature a luminary assemblage, fronted by Grammy nominated lead vocalist Cathy Richardson who starred on Broadway in "Love, Janis." Joining Richardson, Freiberg & Kantner & keyboardist/bassist Chris Smith, who joined the band in 1998 after years with The Supremes, will be vocalists Darby Gould & Linda Imperial, legendary Bay area folkie Jack Traylor & acclaimed violinist Aaron Redner from Hot Buttered Rum appearing on successive nights. There is a $40-$45 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: LORINDA LISITZA & TED STAFFORD UPSTAIRS AT THE METROPOLITAN

Ever wonder what's been lurking in the basement of the Metropolitan Room? Next to the Basement Bartender you'll find the secretive duo of Lorinda Lisitza & Ted Stafford, weaving tender harmonies in the semi-obscurity of the lower lounge. Now they are ready to step into the light for their first full-length show together on Wednesday, January 25th at 9:30 pm at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 ). The Ted and Lo Show was born at the Metropolitan Room's September Staff Show, nurtured by patient friends and coworkers, and lived through many delightful and awkward teenage moments at the fabulous MetroJam. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: DARYL SHERMAN SWINGS AT DON'T TELL MAMA

Jazz vocalist/pianist Daryl Sherman toDON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Wednesday, January 25th at 7:00 pm. Sherman is internationally acclaimed for a stellar 14-year run at the Waldorf-Astoria where she played Cole Porter's Steinway. Last June, she headlined the annual Cole Porter Festival in his hometown of Peru, IN. Sherman has performed at The Algonquin's Oak Room, Feinstein's, Rose Hall with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Dizzy's Coca Cola and 59E59 Theaters where she was lauded for her band singer role in a centennial tribute to Artie Shaw. As a sparkling mainstay of Manhattan's nightlife, there's hardly jazz joint, supper club, Chinese restaurant or hotel that Daryl has missed. Her many recordings are in regular national rotation on Cable TV's Music Choice and Sirius/XM Radio. She was presented the 2010 MAC Award "Best Major Recording" for her Johnny Mercer Centennial CD - which was used in a Mercer documentary produced by Clint Eastwood. There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: ANN OSMOND & DENNIS YERRY - OPTIMISTIC VOICES

Jazz cabaret duo Ann Osmond & Dennis Yerry sing songs that celebrate the indomitable human spirit as it searches for love and meaning along the bumpy road of life at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, January 25th at 7:00 pm. Their show "Optimistic Voices" includes songs from Gershwin to Sondheim to Jobim to Stevie Wonder,and their eclectic program includes music spanning many decades and styles. The duo, formed just over a year ago, has built an enthusiastic following, performing to sell-out crowds throughout the Hudson Valley. Ann Osmondis a singer/actor with roots in the theatre and Dennis Yerry is an accomplished jazz pianist and composer. Their unique arrangements and rich harmonies have a fresh energy and an air of timeless elegance. In the tradition of Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, they share the spotlight and the blend of their voices is a rare treat. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
