SAN FRANCISCO, CA: KEIKO MATSUI AT FEINSTEIN'S

FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866- 663- 1063) welcomes internationally acclaimed pianist, composer and humanitarian Keiko Matsui for three performances on Thursday & Friday, May 7th & 8th at 8:00 pm and Saturday, May 9th at 7:00 pm. In 1997, she launched a tour dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer, and released a four-song CD entitled "A Gift of Hope" that benefitted the Y-Me Breast Cancer Organization. Her music was prominently featured in "Say It, Fight It, Cure It," a Lifetime special profiling several courageous women battling breast cancer. In 1999, the pianist performed at "A Golden Moment," a skating concert featuring Olympic figure skaters Kristi Yamaguchi, Tara Lipinski, Ekaterina Gordeeva, and Katarina Witt, which benefitted the Susan G. Komen Foundation. 1998 saw the release of her album "Full Moon And The Shrine," which was accompanied by the acclaimed PBS-TV special "Keiko Matsui: Light Above The Trees." In 2000, the special earned Keiko a National Smooth Jazz Award for "Best Long- Form Video Achievement" and she was honored with an award for "Best Female Artist." She claimed the award again in 2001. In 2002, she released the poignant recording The Ring, which was meant to communicate a message of peace, compassion, and humanity to listeners around the world. Keiko Matsui's CD "Deep Blue" (2001) topped Billboard's Contemporary Jazz charts for three consecutive weeks. Keiko is the first Japanese artist to achieve this honor. In 2003 she enjoyed success with her recording "The Piano," which featured reinventions of some of her most loved original works. In 2004 the title track of Keiko's "Wildflower" was used to support the United Nations World Food Programme's efforts in Africa. In addition proceeds from her 2001 mini-CD, "A Gift of Life," went to The National Donor Program and Marrow Foundation in support of A3M. In December 2009, the highly sought-after pianist was asked to put together a Christmas show at the Blue Note club in Tokyo, which was a major success and in November 2010 she made her highly anticipated debut at the Blue Note in NY, which was sold out. In 2011 Keiko recorded with fellow pianist Bob James on a four hand piano project called Altair & Vega. Keiko's depth as a composer has also allowed her to contribute music to soundtracks in Japan, the U.S. and Russia. She also released her critically heralded Top 5 Billboard Recording "The Road..." which featured Cameroonian bassist Richard Bona and saxophonists Kirk Whalum and Jackiem Joyner among others. NEW HOPE, PA: JACKIE "THE JOKE MAN" MARTLING

A longtime fixture of radio's Howard Stern Show, comedian Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling, will perform at THE RRAZZ ROOM IN NEW HOPE (6426 Lower York Road, New Hope, PA - 888-596-1027) on Saturday, May 9th at 8:00 pm. Martling is best known for his seemingly inexhaustible supply of dirty jokes. Jackie left the Stern show in 2001 after fifteen-year run as head writer, four television series, and three Pay-Per-Views. He's released five dirty joke CD's, two videos, and recently was seen in the red-hot comedy documentary "The Aristocrats." NYC: WE'RE STILL HERE!: THE CABARET DEBUT OF THE FIRST EVER CHORUS OF GLBT ELDERS

They marched from Stonewall to Vietnam; came out and came forward to pave the way on the continuing road toward equality for LGBT communities in NYC and beyond. Now they will perform at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Saturday, May 9th at 4:30 pm in The First Ever Chorus Of Glbt Elders. In this unique collaboration between New York City Gay Men's Chorus and SAGE USA, GLBT Elders relate the songs and stories from their lives that have in turn shaped the world we live in today. NYC: DEAR HENRY BY ARTHUR WOOTEN, STARRING LUKE DOYLE

ASD Media & Entertainment is proud to present Dear Henry ... a charming, funny, slightly risque, and ultimately moving piece of theater, at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Saturday, May 9th at 7:00 pm. In 2008 & 2009 Arthur Wooten was the humorist for the London based Magazine reFRESH. The column revolved around a man writing letters to his exasperating boyfriend, Henry, regaling readers in numerous crazy shenanigans (both sexual and non) that the two had gotten into during their relationship. reFRESH readers fell in love with Arthur and couldn't wait for the next installment of Dear Henry. Wooten became the Carrie Bradshaw of London with Brits (both gay and straight) waiting to see what the two would get into next. Ultimately each letter explained the never-ending reasons why they must end their relationship. But as we all know, sometimes breaking up is really hard to do. Now that column has become the jumping off point for this hilarious and irreverent one man show. While reexamining his colorful yet complicated relationship with his on again/off again lover Henry, Clark Compton Lowell III makes the best discovery anyone can make. He finds ... himself. NYC: "SEARCH: PAUL CLAYTON" THE MAN WHO LOVED BOB DYLAN

STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) presents the New York premiere of a new folk musical, 'Search: Paul Clayton, the Man Who Loved Bob Dylan', which features 14 classic folk songs, The show will play for 13 performances only from Wednesday, May 6th through Thursday, May 21st. Showtimes and days vary so check the STAGE 72 Website. The opening night is Thursday, May 7th at 7:00 pm, with a second show on Friday, May 8th at 9:00 pm. 'Search: Paul Clayton' celebrates the true story in words and song of one of Bob Dylan's first musical mentors. Paul Clayton of New Bedford, Massachusetts was the most recorded young folk singer in America when Bobby Zimmerman arrived in 1961 Greenwich Village to begin his career as Bob Dylan. It was Paul who helped open the doors of the folk world to him. From 1961 to 1965 Paul taught Bob the tricks of the trade, while falling hopelessly in love with him. The show was conceived and written by Larry Mollin ("Beverly Hills 90210"), directed by Randal Myler (Tony Award nominee, It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues) with musical direction by Fred Mollin and is produced by Dan Whitten and TIGER Theatricals. "Search: Paul Clayton" will feature Peter Oyloe as Paul Clayton, Jared Weiss as Bob Dylan, Ereni Sevasti as Joan Baez, Jaime Babbitt as Carla Rotolo, Allan Harris as the Rev. NYC: THE SINATRATHON: THE WORLD'S LONGEST AND BEST CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION OF FRANK SINATRA

Frank Sinatra, born a century ago in 1915, was not only one of the greatest singers in all of American culture, he was also the most prolific. Over a career that spanned nearly 60 years, he recorded over 1,600 songs, starred in over 50 movies, and made innumerable concert, radio, and TV appearances. No single tribute is big enough to do justice to the full length and breadth of Sinatra's contribution to music, so THE CUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900) ispresenting the SINATRA-THON, to be held on Saturday, May 9th, starting at 10:00 am. The event will involve the talents of more than 50 of New York's finest singers and musicians (including a full big band) and will continue for over 14 hours. The Sinatra-Thon will begin at ten in the morning, and will continue at least until midnight - or quite possibly even later, into Sunday morning. The show will take place on the day before Mother's Day, 2015, in honor of the singer's legendary devotion to his mother, Dolly Sinatra. The event will be curated and produced by Cary Hoffman (singer, composer, and producer, whose one-man show My Sinatra has been played in long runs in New York and at Performing Arts Centers and other venues in and around New York City and the United States) and Will Friedwald (columnist for the Wall Street Journal and the author of the well-received book on the singer, Sinatra! NYC: MARK DENDY PROJECTS NEWYORK NEWYORK @ASTOR PLACE

Mark Dendy's new dance-theater work, "New York new york: Astor Place", will play at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Wednesday through Saturday, May 6th through 9th, with performances at 7:00 pm, with a second performance on Saturday, May 9th at 9:00 pm. The work mines the rich history of the Public Theater building, the original Astor Library, whose collection eventually made up the lion's share of the New York Public Library's holdings. The stage at Joe's Pub in the Public Theater becomes a portal through which we meet a shape-shifting cast of time travelers, habitu•s from past and present Astor Place and the surrounding area. The piece looks at gentrification through the specifics of one New York neighborhood and asks: What is change? Does history merely repeat itself? The piece explores race relations and violence, the never-ending conflict between the 99 percent and the 1 percent, the role of tabloid news now and then, and a meditation on the book itself though dance and text. Dendy hosts the evening as William B. Astor, heir to one of America's first millionaires John Jacob Astor. Along the way we meet a writer, a reporter, a real estate agent and her clients, a male stripper, a freed slave, an East Village '80s punk, a disgruntled Irishman, and a book-burning preacher. (Please note that this show contains partial nudity and may not be suitable for young audiences.) There is a $20 cover.

They are joined by Ricky Ritzel (as Mort) at the piano. These MAC Award winning performers (Best Impersonation) will pull out all the stops, singing classic solo's, parodies, duets and just plain whooping and hollering by the greatest mother/ daughter team in show biz history. Tommy Femia is a 7 time winner of the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) Award for his brilliant portrayal of Judy Garland in "Judy Garland LIVE!", now in it's 20th season at Don't Tell Mama. SAN FRANCISCO, CA: KEIKO MATSUI AT FEINSTEIN'S

FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866- 663- 1063) welcomes internationally acclaimed pianist, composer and humanitarian Keiko Matsui for three performances on Thursday & Friday, May 7th & 8th at 8:00 pm and Saturday, May 9th at 7:00 pm. In 1997, she launched a tour dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer, and released a four-song CD entitled "A Gift of Hope" that benefitted the Y-Me Breast Cancer Organization. Her music was prominently featured in "Say It, Fight It, Cure It," a Lifetime special profiling several courageous women battling breast cancer. In 1999, the pianist performed at "A Golden Moment," a skating concert featuring Olympic figure skaters Kristi Yamaguchi, Tara Lipinski, Ekaterina Gordeeva, and Katarina Witt, which benefitted the Susan G. Komen Foundation. 1998 saw the release of her album "Full Moon And The Shrine," which was accompanied by the acclaimed PBS-TV special "Keiko Matsui: Light Above The Trees." In 2000, the special earned Keiko a National Smooth Jazz Award for "Best Long- Form Video Achievement" and she was honored with an award for "Best Female Artist." She claimed the award again in 2001. In 2002, she released the poignant recording The Ring, which was meant to communicate a message of peace, compassion, and humanity to listeners around the world. Keiko Matsui's CD "Deep Blue" (2001) topped Billboard's Contemporary Jazz charts for three consecutive weeks. Keiko is the first Japanese artist to achieve this honor. In 2003 she enjoyed success with her recording "The Piano," which featured reinventions of some of her most loved original works. In 2004 the title track of Keiko's "Wildflower" was used to support the United Nations World Food Programme's efforts in Africa. In addition proceeds from her 2001 mini-CD, "A Gift of Life," went to The National Donor Program and Marrow Foundation in support of A3M. In December 2009, the highly sought-after pianist was asked to put together a Christmas show at the Blue Note club in Tokyo, which was a major success and in November 2010 she made her highly anticipated debut at the Blue Note in NY, which was sold out. In 2011 Keiko recorded with fellow pianist Bob James on a four hand piano project called Altair & Vega. Keiko's depth as a composer has also allowed her to contribute music to soundtracks in Japan, the U.S. and Russia. She also released her critically heralded Top 5 Billboard Recording "The Road..." which featured Cameroonian bassist Richard Bona and saxophonists Kirk Whalum and Jackiem Joyner among others. NYC: CAROLYN MONTGOMERY-FORANT: VISIBLE PHOENIX

MAC, Back Stage Bistro and Nightlife Award winning singer, songwriter and recording artist Carolyn Montgomery-Forant, returns to the New York City stage in her first solo show in eight years! Her show 'Visible Phoenix' continues at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Fridays, April 10th and May 8th, 2015 - both shows at 7:00 pm. Musical direction is by Donald Rebic (Leslie Uggams, Karen Akers), and the show features a five-piece band and Carolyn's trio of back-up singers, The Fine Whine. Montgomery-Forant returned to the stage one year ago, in January 2014. Within nine short months, she was featured in the acclaimed review The Amanda McBroom Project (directed by Broadway's Arthur Masella, and co-starring Karen Akers, Mandy Gonzales, Lacretta Ross and KT Sullivan) at the Studio Theater in New York City; she appeared in the popular series Broadway by the Year at Town Hall and she co-starred at 54 Below to standing room only crowds in the hit show Dirty Little Songs. In addition, Montgomery-Forant took her fledging solo act to Davenport's in Chicago, The Hackney Attic in London, and Martuni's in San Francisco, delighting audiences and critics alike. Directed by Eric Michael Gillett, this comeback tour de force incorporates music from a wide range of genres and eras, original comedy, and a few songs with music and lyrics by Montgomery-Forant herself. NYC: MAVERICK GAITHER AT THE CUTTING ROOM

Singer/songwriter Maverick Gaither, a Brooklyn native, performs at THE CUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900) on Friday, May 8th at 10:30 pm. Gaither has been playing the saxophone since age 11, and has been playing in nightclubs since age 15. Maverick chose the saxophone because he liked the name, the look and sound of the instrument. Maverick is a graduate of Erasmus Hall High School of Music and Art in Brooklyn, NY. While in the service he attended Pike's Peak Community College, the Education College of Technology in Manhattan, and the Naval Academy School of Music in Norfolk Virginia. After hearing the voice of Luther Vandross in 1980, Maverick was inspired to begin his own singing career. While serving his country, he was twice named Top Male Vocalist in the U.S. Army. Following his honorable discharge from the army, Maverick began performing with Regina Belle, Teddy Pendergrass, and Cheryl Pepsii Riley among others. Maverick has performed at many venues including the world famous Apollo, Madison Square Garden's Felt Forum, the Waldorf Astoria, NBC Studios, Fox Studios, B. Smith's, Woodbury Country Club, and Oheka Castle among many other venues. Maverick is currently the lead vocalist, saxophonist and master of ceremonies for New York Entertainment's Central Park Orchestra, with whom he has performed since 1990. Maverick is such a versatile performer he has won rave reviews for his ability to sing everything from 60's R&B, to Ne-Yo to Frank Sinatra to Jaheim to his own original compositions. Maverick's freshman CD, a collaboration with producer/musician Gil Small, proves Maverick has a PhD. In jazz, R&B and Pop, and freely visits those genres in this 10 song offering. NYC: PAMELA LEWIS: "NEW YORK STATE OF MIND: THE SONGS OF BILLY JOEL"

After performing two sold-out shows in mid-January and another one in March that garnered rave reviews from New York cabaret critics, singer/songwriter Pamela Lewis (a.k.a. Champagne Pam), again brings her unique interpretation of Long Island icon Billy Joel's songbook back to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, May 8th at 7:00 pm. Pamela considers the songs of Billy Joel to be the soundtrack of her life and has been dreaming about performing them since she was a little girl growing up on Long Island. Pamela's understanding of Joel's Long Island roots, and passion for American popular song make her an ideal performer of this material. Lewis' show is directed by well-known British cabaret star Barb Jungr. With Musical Director Bill Heller on piano, Lewis' husband John Hurley on guitar, bass player Ritt Henn, and Marcus Parsley on trumpet, you'll hear Pamela transform the classic songs of Billy Joel into a sound all her own. NYC: NORA DAVIS & CARLOS KNAUTH - A MARVELOUS MOMENT

Carlos Knauth and Nora Davis will bring their show 'A Marvelous Moment' to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, May 8th at 9:30 pm. Musical director is James Horan. They tell the story of two strangers in NYC looking for love in all the wrong places. With lots of laughter along the way, their unique friendship develops after they discover that the love they have been searching for has been there all along. Through their avid belief in one another they find the strength to believe in themselves. They promise an evening of love, longing, and self-discovery that celebrates the journey all face in staying true to ourselves! Nora Davis is a native of Los Angeles, California. NYC: "SEARCH: PAUL CLAYTON" THE MAN WHO LOVED BOB DYLAN

STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) presents the New York premiere of a new folk musical, 'Search: Paul Clayton, the Man Who Loved Bob Dylan', which features 14 classic folk songs, The show will play for 13 performances only from Wednesday, May 6th through Thursday, May 21st. Showtimes and days vary so check the STAGE 72 Website. The opening night is Thursday, May 7th at 7:00 pm, with a second show on Friday, May 8th at 9:00 pm. 'Search: Paul Clayton' celebrates the true story in words and song of one of Bob Dylan's first musical mentors. Paul Clayton of New Bedford, Massachusetts was the most recorded young folk singer in America when Bobby Zimmerman arrived in 1961 Greenwich Village to begin his career as Bob Dylan. It was Paul who helped open the doors of the folk world to him. From 1961 to 1965 Paul taught Bob the tricks of the trade, while falling hopelessly in love with him. The show was conceived and written by Larry Mollin ("Beverly Hills 90210"), directed by Randal Myler (Tony Award nominee, It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues) with musical direction by Fred Mollin and is produced by Dan Whitten and TIGER Theatricals. "Search: Paul Clayton" will feature Peter Oyloe as Paul Clayton, Jared Weiss as Bob Dylan, Ereni Sevasti as Joan Baez, Jaime Babbitt as Carla Rotolo, Allan Harris as the Rev. NYC: LANE BRADBURY: LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU, AGAIN

Lane Bradbury created the role of 'Dainty June' in the original Broadway production of GYPSY starring Ethel Merman, and now she brings her show, 'Lane Bradbury: Let Me Entertain You, Again' to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Friday, May 8th at 7:00 pm. The show is a highly personal tour of how she went from being an Atlanta Debutante to a performer on "The Great White Way" during the Golden Age of Broadway. Songs include "Gee, But It's Good To Be Here," "Corner Of The Sky," and "Another Hundred People," among others, as well as four songs from GYPSY: "Broadway," "Everything's Coming Up Roses," "If Momma Was Married," and, of course, "Let Me Entertain You." NYC: BRIAN NASH: FOREVER/ AFTER CD RELEASE CONCERT

Popular musical director and pianist Brian Nash moves center stage at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Friday, May 8th at 9:30 pm, for a concert celebrating the release of his debut solo album, Forever/After. Featuring songs by artists including Jason Mraz, Patty Griffin, Ben Folds, Jason Robert Brown, and Cyndi Lauper, Brian uses these composers' work to explore what happens after "always" is shorter than it should be. Backed by a full band and string quartet, Brian will perform the album in its entirety; in celebration, CDs sold at the event will be sold afterwards at $10 each. Brian is known for his regular gigs around town, from Mostly Sondheim and his long running Sunday nights at the Duplex to Co-Dependent Mondays with Natalie Joy Johnson at Therapy. Following a sold out Off-Broadway workshop in 2014, DEX! NYC: MARK DENDY PROJECTS NEWYORK NEWYORK @ASTOR PLACE

Mark Dendy's new dance-theater work, "New York new york: Astor Place", will play at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Wednesday through Saturday, May 6th through 9th, with performances at 7:00 pm, with a second performance on Saturday, May 9th at 9:00 pm. The work mines the rich history of the Public Theater building, the original Astor Library, whose collection eventually made up the lion's share of the New York Public Library's holdings. The stage at Joe's Pub in the Public Theater becomes a portal through which we meet a shape-shifting cast of time travelers, habitu•s from past and present Astor Place and the surrounding area. The piece looks at gentrification through the specifics of one New York neighborhood and asks: What is change? Does history merely repeat itself? The piece explores race relations and violence, the never-ending conflict between the 99 percent and the 1 percent, the role of tabloid news now and then, and a meditation on the book itself though dance and text. Dendy hosts the evening as William B. Astor, heir to one of America's first millionaires John Jacob Astor. Along the way we meet a writer, a reporter, a real estate agent and her clients, a male stripper, a freed slave, an East Village '80s punk, a disgruntled Irishman, and a book-burning preacher. (Please note that this show contains partial nudity and may not be suitable for young audiences.) There is a $20 cover.

NYC: MICHELE ROSEWOMAN'S NEW YOR-UBA, A MUSICAL CELEBRATION OF CUBA IN AMERICA

Pianist/composer/vocalist Michele Rosewoman pushes the envelope at the outer limits of jazz improvisation while keeping firmly rooted in both jazz and centuries-old Afro-Cuban folkloric tradition in her show at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Friday, May 8th at 9:30 pm. Widely credited as being one of the first composers to synthesize sacred Cuban folkloric music with a thoroughly contemporary jazz concept, Rosewoman's magnum opus, double-cd set, "New Yor-Uba: 30 Years! A Musical Celebration of Cuba in America" - the #1 NPR Latin Jazz recording of 2013 - is the realization of a distinctive creative vision thirty years in the making. There is a $20 cover.
