LONDON CABARET: ERIC COMSTOCK AND BARBARA FASANO AT CRAZY COQS - LAST SHOW TONIGHT
Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano make their London debut at
THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 pm with their acclaimed show 'HELLUVA TOWN: A New York Soundtrack'. The show celebrates the love/hate affair Comstock, Fasano and most New Yorkers have with their city. Comstock and Fasano won't be singing predictable New York anthems, but rather will perform an idiosyncratic mix of songs from Broadway and Hollywood, the pop singer-songwriters and the jazz songbook. The wide gamut of writers includes Leonard Bernstein, Rodgers & Hart, Comden & Green, Charles Strouse & Lee Adams, Cy Coleman & Carolyn Leigh, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Horace Silver, Jon Hendricks, Harry Warren, Billy Strayhorn, and Bacharach & David. Comstock and Fasano will perform songs from such Broadway shows as 42nd Street, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Promises Promises and Golden Boy. Comstock and Fasano, whose chemistry has been described as having a little bit of the Astaire-Rogers blend of sex and class, have been honoured as vocalists, recording artists, and writers of their numerous performance pieces. Regular performers at New York's most prestigious clubs and concert halls, they have received an unprecedented three MAC Awards in one year including Vocal Duo of the Year, Outstanding Female Vocalist and Record of the Year. They are also multiple MAC, Bistro and New York Nightlife Award winners and have just been honoured with the 2013 MAC award for Major Duo. Call for cover/minimum information.
