CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE in collaboration with Sue Matsuki Productions is proud to announce the first in a series of monthly concerts called PEOPLE YOU SHOULD KNOW atDON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 ). On Saturday, June 29th at 8:30 pm, the show will feature performers from the Wednesday Night at the Iguana Variety Show. Hosted by Sue Matsuki, the show will have Barry Levitt on piano and Dana Lorge as Special Guest. Performers include Steve "The Whistler" Herbst, Robert Gino and Dora Rubin.If you are coming to see one of the three performers in particular and want them to "get credit" for your ticket sales please send an e-mail to:SueMatsuki@aol.com with the Subject Line reading: "Tickets for Jan 29" or leave a message at: 917-821-4342 and let Sue know how many will be in your party, whether anyone in your party is a MAC or CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE member and who it is you are coming to see. The second show, on Saturday, February 26th at 6:00 pm at DON'T TELL MAMA will feature performers Sue has seen on visits to Mark Janus' Salon series at ETCETERA, ETCETERA. Future events will be announced soon. I'll also be promoting and updating info on "People You Should Know" on the website, blog, FaceBook, MySpace and Twitter. Barbara Malley brings her new show, "You Must Remember This", to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212 757-0788) for one night only Sunday, January 9th at 6:30PM. Barbara takes an affectionate look at life from age 17 to 65+ as she sings us through good times and bad times featuring songs by Alan Jay Lerner and Burton Lane, Harold Arlen, Charlie Chaplin, Hoagy Carmichael and others. Musical Direction by David Brunetti. Directed by Collette Black. There is a $12 cover charge plus a 2-drink minimum.
The husband-and-wife team of David Alpher (pianist/composer) and Jennie Litt (singer/lyricist) will return to cabaret stage at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, January 12th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, January 29th at 4:00 pm. They are joined by Ritt Henn on bass. The show is directed by Barry Kleinbort. The songs cover topics like celebrity chefs, manatees, lingerie, cryonic preservation of embryos, and the randomness of absolutely everything. Some old, some new, plus a select handful of standards from Kern & Hammerstein, Bock & Harnick, & Edith Piaf. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
