Jackie Draper presents her twelfth show, "Happy Habits" at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Sunday, May 15th at 5:00 pm and Friday, May 20th at 7:00 pm. The show is a musical exploration of many customs and patterns that shape, nourish, influence and enlighten our lives - with songs in English, French, and Spanish. Composers/Lyricists include the Gershwins, Schwartz and Fields, Legrand and the Bergmans, Bucchino, Coward, Mandel, Aznavour, and others. Jackie's own happy habits of singing and dancing will be supported once again by her experienced team: Director Helen Baldassare; Music Director Gregory Toroian at the piano; Ritt Henn on bass; Robbyn Tongue on woodwinds; and special guest Franklin Ayala on percussion (and moving his magical feet). Canadian jazz-cabaret crooner and 2008 MAC-award nominee, Vincent Wolfe, returns to New York with his acclaimed show "Divas Are a Boy's Best Friend" which he will perform at THE TRIAD (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) on Friday, May 20th at 9:30 pm. The show is a rollicking, emotional, musical roller-coaster ride celebrating the ladies of song who Vincent has known, idolized and/or shared a stage with. This concert is presented as part of Lee Summer's "Just A Piano" Series. This show features backstage memories and insider anecdotes blending seamlessly with hit tunes and lesser-known gems from the songbooks of Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Melissa Manchester, Jean Carn, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Rita Coolidge, Marlena Shaw, Bette Midler, Brenda Russell, Julie Wilson and the incomparable late Phyllis Hyman. The show also features sensational pianist Mark Kieswetter. NYC: TOM POSTILIO IN HIS NEW SHOW "THIS TIME AROUND"

FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095) presents the debut of Tom Postilio, the acclaimed vocalist and star of HGTV's "Selling New York," from Tuesday through Saturday, May 17th through May 21st. Performances are Tuesday through Thursday at 8:30 pm; and Friday & Saturday at 8:00 & 10:30 pm. His show, "This Time Around" will include classic standards by Stephen Sondheim ("Old Friends"), Cole Porter ("I Happen To Like New York"), Rodgers & Hart ("Manhattan") and Irving Berlin ("Let Me Sing And I'm Happy"). The new show, directed by Mark Waldrop, features Dean Schneider on piano, Steve LaSpina on bass and Dave Meade on drums. One of today's outstanding vocalists and preeminent torchbearers of the American popular songbook, Tom starred in the hit Off-Broadway musical revue, Our Sinatra for 18 months. At the age of 20, Tom was invited to tour internationally for a year as the featured vocalist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. The tour included concerts throughout Europe, Asia and the U.S., culminating in a performance before 18,000 people at the Hollywood Bowl on a bill with the Tommy Dorsey and Count Basie Orchestras. Tom has performed throughout the country in theaters and nightclubs, from sold-out shows at San Francisco's Plush Room to the renowned Westbury Music Fair in Westbury, Long Island. There is a $40-$60 cover plus a $25 food drink minimum.

Launched in 2007, the annual BOSSABRASIL Festival brings together top Brazilian artists for a celebration of Bossa Nova and other musical sounds from Brazil. At BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) Tuesday through Saturday, May 17th through 21st the BOSSABRASIL Festival - Direct From Rio, featuring Marcos Valle (composer, keyboards, vocals) and Wanda Sa (guitar, vocals) with Patricia Alvi (vocals) Jesse Sadoc (trumpet) Sergio Brandau (bass), Renato "Massa" Calmon (drums) will perform, 2 shows a night at 8:30 & 11:00 pm. For over 50 years Bossa Nova has seduced musicians and listeners with its innate sensuality, melding samba with jazz sensibilities. Festival producers Pat Philips and Ettore Stratta, have produced hit Brazilian music concerts in venues from Rio to New York City. This year they are presenting the very talented composer/keyboardist/vocalist Marcos Valle and guitarist and vocalist Wanda Sa in their first engagement together in the US. Chris Barrett returns to NYC cabaret for 5 performances in May and June at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). Show dates and times are Tuesday, May 17th at 7:00 pm; Wednesday, May 25th at 9:30 pm; Thursday, June 2nd at 9:30 pm; Friday, June 10th at 9:30 pm; and Friday, June 17th at 9:30 pm. The show is in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. Barrett has been performing throughout the USA and in Europe since 1973. His career highlights in New York City include repeat engagements at New York's Stanhope, Carlyle, Pierre, U.N. Plaza, and Westbury Hotels. Among his engagements throughout the USA are the Hotel Bel-Air, Los Angeles; the Ritz-Carlton, Washington, DC; and the John Drew Theater, East Hampton, NY In Europe, he has enjoyed repeated bookings at the Hotel Cipriani, Venice; the Berkeley Hotel, London; and the Hotel Poseidon, Positano, Italy. Chris Barrett is also the recipient of the Back Stage Bistro Award for best singer/instrumentalist and a finalist at the 2005 Nightlife Awards. His most recent CD, Champagne Sometimes ... a Night Out with Chris Barrett, and his other recordings will be available for purchase after each show.
