CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: A ROMANTIC MUSICAL JOURNEY WITH IRIS WILLIAMS
Take a romantic musical journey with Iris Williams on Sunday, October 6th at 9:30 pm at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) as she sings classics from Jerome Kern, Nat King Cole, Rogers and Hart, Duke Ellington, Ray Noble and others. Musical Director for Ms Williams is Art Weiss. Ms Williams, born in Wales, had her first big success with her recording of "He Was Beautiful" (the theme from the film The Deer Hunter. The recording went gold and there followed 14 Royal Performances in addition to performances in countries around the world. In America, Iris has performed critically acclaimed engagements at the Oak Room in the Algonquin Hotel in NY, the LA Music Center, the Smithsonian, Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, the London Palladium and Royal Albert Hall, to name a few. Many TV appearances featured Iris in the UK including her own series called IRIS, which was a weekly musical program featuring Iris performing the classic standards of Jerome Kern, George and Iris Gershwin and Harold Arlen. In 2004, H.M the Queen Elizabeth II awarded Ms.Williams the title Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), for her contributions to music and services to charitable causes. Iris is also a Fellow of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
