CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: KAREN OBERLIN REPRISES HER TRIBUTE TO DORIS DAY
Karen Oberlin reprises her tribute to Doris Day, on the heels of her SRO week of the show in London at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) on Friday, October 11th at 9:30 pm. Karen was in her first production at age 6, and she hasn't stopped performing since. She has received Bistro, Nightlife (for Jazz Vocalist of the Year in 2011) and multiple MAC Awards and is this year's recipient of the second annual prestigious Mabel Mercer Foundation's Donald F. Smith award, which was presented to her at the opening night of the Cabaret Convention, October 7th. In New York, Oberlin had major engagements at The Oak Room at the Algonquin and Feinstein's and at the Metropolitan Room among many others, and has toured extensively in the US and Europe, including headlining at Caramoor, the Royal Room at the Colony Palm Beach, the Prince Theatre in Philadelphia and the Ordway Theatre in St. Paul, to name a few. She will be returning to the Crazy Coqs Cabaret in London in November 2013. Oberlin has four recordings, including a new CD, "A Wish" with Metropolitan Room favorite guitarist Sean Harkness. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
