CABARET PICKS FOR THIS WEEKEND IN NYC: JOANNE TATHAM PREMIERES "SOUNDTRACK NEW YORK" AT CAFE CARLYLE
The renowned THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) presents the L.A.-based jazz vocalist Joanne Tatham with her show "Soundtrack New York" on Thursdays & Fridays, October 3rd & 4th and 10th & 11th, at 10:45 pm as part of The Carlyle's new late-night series Eastside Nightcaps. The show presents songs from films shot on the streets of New York. Tatham's quartet is led by Billy Stritch (October 3rd & 4th), and Tedd Firth (October 10th & 11th) on piano, with Steve Doyle on bass, Sean Harkness on guitar, and Peter Grant on drums. Clifford Bell produces. It includes songs from such films as "West Side Story," "Tootsie," "Rosemary's Baby," "Breakfast at Tiffany's" "Funny Girl," "Midnight Cowboy," and "New York, New York." Launched this past spring, Eastside Nightcaps has already featured an eclectic mix of singers and musicians, including Jo Thompson, William Blake, Bria Skonberg, Caroline Jones and Stacy Sullivan. There is a $30 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
