CABARET AT 54 BELOW TONIGHT

NYC: ANITA GILLETTE & PENNY FULLER AT 54 BELOW

Two beloved Tony-nominated Broadway actresses, Anita Gillette & Penny Fuller, join forces for a delectable evening of humorous reflection and harmonious song in Sin Twisters, at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesdays, October 2nd & 9th at 9:30 pm. Sin Twisters is a show with a devilish spoonerism of a title. On the streets of Manhattan and Los Angeles, these vibrant and savvy veterans of over two dozen Broadway productions, as well as countless films and television shows, are constantly being mistaken for each other, although one is at least three inches taller, and one is a blonde and the other, a redhead. Yet, during their respective careers, they have both tackled some of the same parts, including the plum role of Sally Bowles in the original Broadway production of Cabaret. Sin Twisters joyfully celebrates these similarities but also gives full voice to these two remarkable performers' differences as artists and as women. This show is a must for anyone who loves theater lore and cherishes the enduring bonds of friendship. There is a $35-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: TONY AWARD WINNER JOANNA GLEASON AT 54 BELOW

Tony Award winner Joanna Gleason as she makes her NYC cabaret debut at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday, October 9th at 9:30 pm. Accompanied by Well Strung, the dazzling modern-day string quartet, her fantasy and real lives intersect underscored by tunes ranging from Billy Joel to Dave Frishberg to Johnny Mathis, with maybe even a little walk through the woods. Revered by Broadway audiences for her unforgettable (& award-winning) portrayal of The Baker's Wife in the original company of Into the Woods, New York has also embraced Joanna in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Nick and Nora and Sons of The Prophet among others, racking up all of the major theatre awards along the way. This is to say nothing of her film and TV work, which includes Boogie Nights, Crimes & Misdemeanors, The Wedding Planner, the upcoming Las Vegas and a whole host of other projects. There is a $35-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: VICTORIA HUSTON-ELEM MAKES NYC CABARET DEBUT

Victoria Huston-Elem is proud to be making her debut in the New York cabaret scene at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday, October 9th at 11:30 pm. A recent finalist in 54 Below's "The Callback" competition, she has performed across the country with THE ADDAMS FAMILY national tour, and been featured at several prominent regional houses, including the Goodspeed Operahouse, Riverside Theatre, and Syracuse Stage. In this late-night show, Victoria explores the power of vulnerability (and the relevance of her OkCupid profile) through song, story, and as much honesty as possible. Musical direction by Andrew Gerle. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
