NYC: "RED HOT MAMA: THE SOPHIE TUCKER FAREWELL TOUR"

Tony nominated Sharon McNight is bringing back her hit show "Red Hot Mama" for one last time. "Red Hot Mama: The Sophie Tucker Farewell Tour" will be presented at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, July 20th at 7:00 pm; Wednesday, July 23rd at 9:30 pm; Friday, August 1st at 9:30 pm; and Sunday August 3rd at 9:30 pm. The comic singer originally performed this show, with a sold out run at the fabled Rainbow in Stars back in 1996. She followed that with a four-month, Off-Broadway run at the York Theatre. McNight just completed eight weeks as Mrs. Obrien in the San Francisco Opera's production of "Show Boat," soon to be seen on PBS. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: LAUREN STANFORD MAKES SOLO CABARET DEBUT

2013 MetroStar winner and Kansas native, Lauren Stanford, makes her solo cabaret debut at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) with her show "I'm a Stranger Here Myself" on Friday, August 1st at 7:00 pm. Directed by Eric Michael Gillett, the piece explores New York City and why it continues to lure us here. "I'm a Stranger Here Myself" pairs Lauren's own journey from Kansas to the big city through songs made famous by other small town women that came before such as Helen Morgan, Mary Martin, Julie Wilson, Peggy Lee, Judy Garland, and more. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JEFFERY & COLE PRESENT:POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE 2: EDITH HEAD'S REVENGE

After a sold-out run of their live show last summer, internet comedy duo Jeffery Self and Cole Escola are reuniting once again at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 ) for 5 dates in July & August to conjure up the same magic that made their TV show, "Jeffery & Cole Casserole," a cult hit. Show dates are Thursday through Saturday, July 31st through August 2nd, at 9:30 pm; Thursday & Friday, August 7th & 8th at 9:30 pm. Their new live show, "Postcards from the Edge 2: Edith Head's Revenge" is a ridiculous long-form sketch piece inspired by the fact that Carrie Fisher lives next door to her mother, Debbie Reynolds, in a house that once belonged to the famous costume designer Edith Head. In the show, Jeffery and Cole play various characters and explore what might happen if the ghost of Edith Head were haunting Carrie Fisher and if Debbie Reynolds wore a lot of velour. NYC: SHANGELA: STRAIGHT OUTTA PARIS

D.J. Pierce, the force of nature also known as Shangela returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Friday through Monday, August 1st through 4th at 7:30 pm with an all-new show. Straight Outta Paris, Loud Country & Outta Control! Beginning August 1st you can catch the hilarious one-woman show packed with songs, dance and laughter. There is a $22-$40 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: MURRAY HILL & THE RIMSHOTS AT THE BEECHMAN

New York's superstar comedian and international entertainment phenomenon Mr. Murray Hill will appear at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Friday, August 1st at 10:00 pm! This fabulous star of stage, television, music videos, laptops, bingo halls and big screens has dazzled audiences the world over with his unique brand of interactive humor and old school showbiz. Now he brings his infamous "act," MURRAY HILL & THE RIMSHOTS, a one-man comedy explosion with a swinging band to Times Square. MURRAY HILL & THE RIMSHOTS will feature Hill's trademark blend of hammy Borscht Belt humor, irreverent monologues, joint-popping slapstick, so-bad-it's-gotta-be-good crooning, and freewheeling ad-libbing. Hill is accompanied by a 4-piece band. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: SARAH MUCHO AND THE SOMETIME BOYS

Sarah Mucho and The Sometime Boys will present a night of authentic Americana music as part of the cabaret portion of the Midtown International Theatre Festival ( ) on Friday, August 1st at 10:00 pm at the DOROTHY STRELSIN THEATRE (312 West 36th Street, NYC). The show will feature pretty harmonies, lots of strings, traditional bluegrass, country, folk, gospel and blues melodies as well as the not-so-traditional and original songs presented in that style. Founded in 2010 by MAC award winning vocalist Sarah Mucho and guitarist Kurt Leege, The Sometime Boys have leapt to the forefront of the urban roots music scene in New York. They blend elements of bluegrass, country, blues, folk-rock, soul, gospel and zydeco into a unique, refreshing Americana sound. The music is an intricate canvas of acoustic and electric stringed instrument brushstrokes, propelled by a rousing, yet soulful rhythm section that won't quit. Sarah's voice, which has been described as a bold, etherial vibrato, is backed by Kurt Leege (guitar), Pete O'Connell (bass), Jay Cowit (drums), Rebecca Weiner-Thompkins (violin) and Gypsy George Mihalopoulos (banjo/mandolin/piano). There is an $18 cover.

NYC: PATTI LUPONE: THE LADY WITH A TORCH

Two-time Tony Award winner and 54 Below favorite Patti LuPone returns to54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) with her critically-acclaimed show The Lady with A Torch on Monday, July 21st through Saturday, August 2nd (no show on Sunday, the 27th of July). Patti performs an eclectic collection of torch songs by such composers and lyricists as Arthur Schwartz, Howard Dietz, Jule Styne, Sammy Cahn, Billy Barnes, Harold Arlen, George and Ira Gershwin, and Cole Porter. There is a $90-$105 cover plus a $30 food/drink minimum.
