WASHINGTON, DC: ANDRE JACKSON WITH A "TEDDY PENDERGRASS TRIBUTE"
Andre Jackson, definitely one of the most powerful vocalists to grace the stage today, will perfrom at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Thursday, July 31st with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Andre has been singing since the age of 5 but he really began to "sang" as a tenor in the Cardozo HS choir, his first group was named the Terrible Tenors, his first song, "Always and Forever" by Heatwave. Andre has performed with several local groups, notable; he was the last member of the high stepping, high energy group, The Choice Four, a legendary R&B group that hit it big in the 70's out of Washington, DC. He later helped form the band, Sudden M Pac, an old school R&B band. When he's not throwing down with S.M.P. you can find him on the road with former lead singer of the Temptations, Glenn Leonard and his Temptations' Revue. Call for cover/minimum information.
BETHESDA, MD: CONIECE WASHINGTON WITH AN EVENING OF JAZZ
Coniece Washington will perform at BETHESDA BLUES & JAZZ SUPPER CLUB (7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD - 240-330-4500) on Thursday, July 31st at 7:30 pm. Coniece Washington is a nationally recognized Jazz Vocalist who captivates her audience with her distinctive Sultry Sweet stylings, comparable to none. Her influences are Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Billie Holiday, Carmen McRae and numerous gospel artists. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Coniece developed her love for music at an early age, singing at her Grandmother's Church. As a young adult, she served in the US Army and continued expressing her talent and passion for music by performing at various night clubs here in the states abroad. She is a trained vocalist and can be seen performing at various venues in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, including ,Twins Jazz and the Carlyle Club. She has also performed at the historic Blues Alley. Coniece is a rare talent that will leave you wanting more.
