NYC: BARRET IS BACK ON RESTAURANT ROW

Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE (313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. NYC: GABRIELLE STRAVELLI AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Jazz-pop vocalist Gabrielle Stravelli brings her new show to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Tuesday, July 29th; and Thursday, July 31st, at 7:00 pm. Director is Marilyn Maye. She will be joined by a dynamic trio: Joshua Richman on piano, Pat O'Leary on bass and Eric Halvorson on drums. The show will feature an eclectic array of tunes ranging from fresh takes on jazz standards and pop classics to original tunes. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JAZZ LEGEND ANNIE ROSS TUESDAYS THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JOAN RIVERS: LIVE IN TIMES SQUARE!

Comedy legend Joan Rivers returns with her her live stand-up act to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Tuesday, July 29th at 7:00 pm. Rivers presents an evening of her newest and most outrageous riffs on Hollywood, pop culture, celebrities, reality TV and award show fashions. Rivers delivers a raunchy, politically incorrect evening of stand-up comedy. A full dinner menu and bar are available, and pianist Will Hall plays from the time doors open until Joan takes the stage. Net proceeds going to Joan Rivers' favorite charities: God's Love We Deliver and Guide Dogs for the Blind. A full dinner menu and bar are available. NYC: COURTNEY ACT: BOYS LIKE ME

Australian Idol sensation and RuPaul's Drag Race Season 6 contestant Courtney Act returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Tuesday through Thursdaym July 29th through 31st at 9:30 pm with an encore of her acclaimed solo show. In Courtney Act: Boys Like Me, the multi-talented drag idol sings her favorite songs and divulges the fascinating and funny dirty laundry list that is her love life. There's that angry text from a straight boy's girlfriend, the twins in Montreal, and the US Marine, just to name a few of the titillating encounters she details in story and song. This tuneful, hysterical performance showcases Courtney's sharp observations of living life on the gender divide, and illustrates what happens when boys like her. NYC: MAC ROVING OPEN MIC AT THE DUPLEX

MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets )presents A NEW monthly open mic for MAC members, with the inaugural show set forTHE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - ) on Tuesday, July 29th at 7:00 pm. Additional shows are scheduled for the last Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm. This show will be hosted by Lennie Watts, with Ricky Ritzel at the piano with Special Guest Karen Mack! Members are invited to try new material, plug their upcoming shows, or just sing their favorite song! Each month, a different MAC Award winning artist will be spotlighted. NYC: PATTI LUPONE: THE LADY WITH A TORCH

Two-time Tony Award winner and 54 Below favorite Patti LuPone returns to54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) with her critically-acclaimed show The Lady with A Torch on Monday, July 21st through Saturday, August 2nd (no show on Sunday, the 27th of July). Patti performs an eclectic collection of torch songs by such composers and lyricists as Arthur Schwartz, Howard Dietz, Jule Styne, Sammy Cahn, Billy Barnes, Harold Arlen, George and Ira Gershwin, and Cole Porter. The Songs Of Nell Benjamin and/or Laurence O'Keefe. will be spotlighted at 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 - ) on Tuesday,July 29th at 9:30 pm. Nell Benjamin and Laurence O'Keefe are the writers behind Legally Blonde, Bat Boy: The Musical, Pirates!, Because of Winn-Dixie, Sarah, Plain and Tall, Cam Jansen, The Explorers Club, Mean Girls and Heathers. Sung by a cast of Broadway stars, Broadway's most musical couple perform the songs they've created together and behind each others' backs. Featuring surprise Guest Stars! Thinly Veiled Insults! NYC: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS - NOW AT THE IGUANA

Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. There is a $15 cover (at the door) plus a $15 food drink minimum.
