NYC: KAREN OBERLIN IN SECRET LOVE: A TRIBUTE TO DORIS DAY

Karen Oberlin brings her show 'Secret Love: A Tribute to Doris Day' to BIRDLAND(315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Sunday, April 27th at 6:00 pm. This very special event will celebrate the 90th birthday of the iconic star. The song list will include beloved favorites such as "Que Sera, Sera", "Sentimental Journey," the title song, "Secret Love," and also includes many rare, poignant songs that show the many sides of this intriguing icon. In Secret Love, Karen Oberlin delves deeply into the life and music of this intriguing and important cultural phenomenon - from having a baby as a teenager, touring with big bands, recording sensational songs, surviving tumultuous marriages and becoming the highest paid woman in Hollywood history. Oberlin, the recipient of the 2011 New York Nightlife Award for Jazz Vocalist of the Year, has often been compared to Ms. Day in her work as a vocalist, and she couldn't be happier. She has headlined at The Oak Room at the Algonquin, Feisntein's at the Regency, the Cafe Carlyle, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Iridium Jazz Club, Merkin Hall, The Town Hall, among many others, and has toured worldwide. She has been the recipient of numerous awards including 2013's most prestigious cabaret award, the Mabel Mercer Foundation's Donald F. Smith Award and an Honorary Doctorate in Music for her performance work. She is a recording artist with four CD's, including "Secret Love: The Music of Doris Day." There is a $25 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

NYC: BROOKE DAVIS WITH I'M SO SORRY ... FOR EVERYTHING

Brooke Davis brings her show 'I'm So Sorry ... For Everything' to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Sunday, April 27th at 7:00 pm. Broioke feels that we all have something to apologize for. After a "fairy-tale" childhood brimming with bucolic desert scenes of horses, camp-fires & parochial choir rehearsals leading to suburban soccer-mom gal creating Martha Stewart moments, Brooke is now ready to reveal her remorse ,,, here in the Big Apple. NYC: SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED RETURNS TO 54 BELOW

A celebrated New York event since 2010, the Bistro Award-winning series Sondheim Unplugged returns once more to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday, April 27th at 7:00 pm. The show features some of Broadway and cabaret's most dynamic voices, accompanied by piano only. Expect tunes from A Little Night Music, Company, Into the Woods, Follies, Passion, Dick Tracy and more. Sondheim Unplugged is hosted by series creator Phil Geoffrey Bond, who will fill the audience in on Sondheimien facts, history & assorted tidbits of theatrical lore! Come join the party! Special Guest Star is Sarah Rice (Sweeney Todd's original Johanna). NYC: MARK NADLER WITH RUNNIN' WILD: SONGS & SCANDALS OF THE ROARING TWENTIES

Award-winning entertainer Mark Nadler returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) with his show "Runnin' Wild: Songs & Scandals of the Roaring Twenties'". Performances are on Sunday, April 27th at 9:30 pm; Wednesday, April 30th at 9:30 pm; Wednesday, May 7th at 9:30 pm and Wednesday, May 14th at 7:00 pm. Mark takes you on a tour of the sex, booze, drugs & even murder from the wildest decade of the 20th century. Mark Nadler starred in and co-wrote the off-Broadway Gershwin revue, American Rhapsody, which was nominated for a Drama Desk and two Lucille Lortel Awards and received the Manhattan Association Of Cabarets (MAC) Award for Outstanding Musical Revue. Additionally, he received the MAC award three years in a row for outstanding Musical Comedy Performer and in 1990 Mark was given the MAC award for his performance of five different interacting characters in his one man "Opera in Honky-Tonk", Red Light, co-written with Dawn Hampton. For his show, Tschaikowsky (and Other Russians), which he performed in New York's Algonquin Hotel, Firebird Supper Club and San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater, as well as the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in Australia, Mark was awarded the 2003 Bistro Award for "Continuing To Raise The Standards Of Cabaret Performance." This show was transformed into a full theatrical event entitled Russian On The Side, for which Mark Nadler received San Francisco's prestigious Bay Area Theatre Critics' Circle Award for Outstanding Solo Performance. NYC: ON KENTUCKY AVENUE, THE CLUB HARLEM CABARET MUSICAL

ON KENTUCKY AVENUE - The Club Harlem Revue, will be performed on Tuesday, April 22nd, Sunday, April 27th and Monday, April 28th, all shows at 7:00 pm at STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590). The musical takes place in a time, before the Casinos took over Atlantic City, when nightclubbing was in vogue with leggy show girls, hysterical comedians, and great singers & dancers. The most famous of the clubs on the musical street known as Kentucky Avenue was the Club Harlem. It was thought of as a "black Copacabana" and featured the major black talent of the era with flair, fashion and fantastic stage shows from Memorial Day to Labor Day. This musical revue is set during the Club Harlem dress rehearsal for opening night of the 1969 season. Within our fictional show, there is a love triangle between the MC, the lead show girl, and the featured female singer. The show features an original score true to the era, interspersed with classic songs from the 60s. The show stars Ty Stephens, Cheryl Freeman, Andricka Hall and features Lee Summers as comedian Slappy Black with special guest artist, Jeree Wade as singer, Damita Jo. Also appearing are Dancers (in alphabetical order) Donna Clark, Gregory J. Hanks, Mindy Haywood, Cassandra Palacio Renee Ternier, and two additional Male Dancers. The Musicians are Frank Owens, Wilbur Bascomb, Richard Cummings, Jr. and Damon Duewhite. The show concept was written & developed by Adam Wade and Ty Stephens. Original music is by Ty Stephens, Frank Owens, Branice McKenzie, Wilbur Bascomb, Adam Wade and Jeree Wade. The Musical Direction is by Frank Owens. The Choreography is by Ty Stephens with Swing Dance Choreography by Mickey Davidson. Showgirl Consultant is Betty Jo and Creative Consultant is Russ Weatherford. Costumes created by Ty Stephens and Pearl Williams. ON KENTUCKY AVENUE captures the feel and aura of the club, based on experiences of Adam and Jeree Wade who performed there during different eras - 30 years apart and were witnesses to much of the backstage intrigues that took place nightly. This new musical, which has been in development for the past 2 1/2 years is presented by Robert R. Blume, Songbirds Unlimited Productions, Peter Martin/Rick Newman in association with J.R. Knauf, Marshall N. Warner & Step Forward Entertainment. Jazz producing legend, Cobi Narita is Associate Producer. There is a $35-$45-$55 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: TIN PAN ALLEY TIME TOUR 2014 AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

The Tin Pan Alley Time Tour 2014 returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, April 27th at 7:00 pm after a sold out engagement there last year. Tin Pan Alley Time Tour 2014 accentuates the positive in a lighthearted travelogue through popular song from 1906 to 1946. The tour includes stops at familiar destinations and out-of-the-way places that highlight the good humor and wit found in the Great American Songbook, from syncopated scariness and outright silliness to the sophistication of Cole Porter and the drollery of Rodgers and Hart. Tin Pan Alley Time Tours are thematic excursions through popular song in the first half of the 20th century. They take audiences back in time through images, films, and performance styles that recall the era in which the songs first appeared. Vocalist Marion Markham, whose versatility ranges from chatty patter to heartfelt blues, leads the tour with a variety of characters, while pianist Michael Campbell recreates the styles of each era with meticulous reconstructions of recordings and piano rolls. Vintage film footage sets the tone and offers a glimpse of popular culture and its influence on The American Songbook. Call for cover/minimum information.

NYC: JERRY COSTANZO'S 9-PIECE SWING ORCHESTRA AT SWING 46

Jerry Costanzo's 9-piece Swing Orchestra will perform at SWING 46 JAZZ & SUPPER CLUB (349 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-262-9554) on Sunday, April 27th at 8:00 pm for an evening of great Jazz, Swing and dancing.•The band will set the stage and carry you back to an era when this sultry and swinging music was the "Pop" of the day. NYC: THE SECOND ANNUAL "BROADWAY AT BROADWAY" SHOWTUNE SING ALONG

The Second Annual "Broadway at Broadway" Showtune Sing Along will be held on Sunday, April 27th at 7:00 pm atTHE BROADWAY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (601 West 114th Street, NYC - 212-864-6100). The event raises funds for the programs of Broadway Community, Inc., which brings food, shelter, and dignity to homeless and hungry persons on the Upper West Side. This year's cast will feature the talents of Jennifer Allen (Bridges of Madison County), Paula Leggett Chase (The Sound of Music, Live!), L.J. Ganser (Gorilla), Ellen Harvey (Phantom of the Opera), Jess LeProtto (Newsies), Burke Moses (Beauty and the Beast), Linda Mugleston (Cinderella), T. Oliver Reid (After Midnight), Bret Shuford (The Little Mermaid), and Kirsten Wyatt (Annie). The Sing Along, which is under the musical direction of David Chase (Cinderella, The Sound of Music, Live!), will feature favorites from the Broadway showtune songbook. NYC: MAXINE LINEHAN: AN AMERICAN JOURNEY

After a sold out performance at BIRDLAND, actress/singer Maxine Linehan will next present a limited run of her solo show An American Journey, A universal story told through song, at TERMINUS RECORDING STUDIOS (723 Seventh Avenue, NYC). Performances are on Sundays & Wednesdays, April 27th through May 14th, all shows at 7:00 pm. For this event, Terminus will be converted into a "pop-up cabaret performance space". The theatrical concert was conceived for Maxine and is being directed by Scott Siegel, with musical direction by the award-winning Tracy Stark and decor by Christopher Studley. The Irish born Ms. Linehan, serves up a story that is both achingly personal and extraordinarily universal. In this one-hour performance, using a diverse catalogue of music that includes show tunes, country, and pop, she tells the story of leaving Ireland twelve years ago for life in America. Maxine taps into the shared experience of generation after generation of immigrants who have arrived in this country with big dreams and high hopes. NYC: JIM CARUSO & BILLY STRITCH RETURN TO BEMELMANS BAR

Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch return toBEMELMAN'S BAR at the CARLYLE(35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-570-7189) with their evening of swinging standards running every Sunday in April and May, from 9:00 pm to midnight. The two performers, who have performed extensively on their own, gained national exposure together as the host and musical director of the wildly popular open mic, Cast Party, which celebrates talent every Monday at Birdland in NYC, and tours nationally. During their 2013 debut runs at Bemelmans, the duo received critical acclaim, and made news when showbiz heavy-hitters like Liza Minnelli and Michael Feinstein joined them in impromptu performances. In their upcoming Carlyle run, Caruso and Stritch will be joined by bassist Steve Doyle. There is a $15-$25 cover.
