FROM LONDON:Continuing the success of her 2 year long sold outrave-review Sunday residency at The Crazy Coqs, Piccadilly, ex-Vegas showgirl turned nightclub chanteuse Miss Hope Springs has gone all 'La Dolce Vita' and is moving her acclaimed show, lock, stock and sequined barrel for a limited season starting on Sunday, May 18th to 'Downstairs at Sergios' (http://www.sergiosw1.co.uk), the fabulous family run Italian restaurant and cabaret room on Great Titchfeld Street. According to Miss Springs, this room has an interesting history. "Downstairs at Sergio's is very much like one of those New York Little Italy restaurants, it's very showbiz and, in the 1950s it was run by Diana Dors and her then boyfriend, stuntman Tommy Yeardye," says the man behind Miss Hope Springs, actor ,composer, lyricist, playwright, director, pianist and singer Ty Jeffries, son of the late British character actor and director Lionel Jeffries, "My father directed Diana in the British family classic 'The Amazing Mr Blunden and she was a close family friend known to me since childhood as my 'Aunty Di'. It feels right that, as my alter ego Miss Hope Springs, a similarly blonde bombshell, I should be performing in a venue she so often frequented." Sergio's has always been something of a glamorous nightspot. It was The Paint Box (a restaurant bedecked with scantily clad life models where you could explore the pleasures of expressing yourself in paint while you ate) and at one time an underground drag bar.
