CABARET BENEFIT SUNDAY NIGHT IN NYC: LOVE IS LOVE TO BENEFIT MATTHEW SHEPARD FOUNDATION

CABARET BENEFIT SUNDAY NIGHT IN NYC: LOVE IS LOVE TO BENEFIT MATTHEW SHEPARD FOUNDATION

The Seeing Place Theater, known for intense & intimate ensemble work, is producing a benefit fundraiser to support Matthew Shepard Foundation and their upcoming production of THE LARAMIE PROJECT on Sunday, May 4that 9:30 pm at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909). Special guest is Randi Driscoll - an award winning singer/ songwriter who has shared the stage with Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Bruce Hornsby, Cyndi Lauper, Dave Koz, Jason Mraz, Pat Benetar, Rufas Wainwright and numerous others. Joining Ms Driscoll are NY cabaret mainstay Erin Cronican, The Seeing Place's Artistic Director Brandon Walker, and ensemble members Logan Keeler, Jessica Kelly and Edward Tolve. These fine performers will be sharing hilarious and touching songs on the themes of love and adversity, ranging between the musical styles of rock, pop, jazz and musical theater. The music director for the evening will be Sarah Brett England. Funds from this event will, in part, go to benefit The Seeing Place's upcoming production of THE LARAMIE PROJECT, an ensemble play opening June 13, 2014. THE LARAMIE PROJECT is a deeply complex portrait of a community's response to the death of gay student Matthew Shepard, a hate crime that led to the largest national conversation about tolerance in American history. This play uniquely demonstrates the power of the human spirit to triumph over bigotry and violence. Written by Moises Kaufman and the members of Tectonic Theatre Project. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
