PALM SPRINGS, CA: VICKI KNIGHT RETURNS TO ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATER

Vicki Knight returns to THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731) on Sunday, April 27th at 2:00 pm with a new show: "Far Away Places" as part of Les Michaels' Sundays In Summer Series. Originally from Canada, (she's big in Winnipeg) Vicki Knight moved to the Desert area in the early eighties and wasted no time making a name for herself in Southern California, quickly being dubbed 'The Desert's Songbird'. "Far Away Places", features songs sung in Spanish, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Hebrew, Yiddish, and more, from Scotland, Ireland, England, Canada, and other 'far away places', together with with stories and patter delivered in the comedic style that's become her trademark. She will be accompanied by Musical Director Paul Cracchiolo on piano. There is an $11 cash cover at the door.

PALM SPRINGS: TONY TRIPOLI AT THE COPA

Tony Tripoli will appear at THE COPA(244 East Amado Road, Palm Springs CA - 760-866-0021) on Saturday, April 26th at 8:00 pm & Sunday, April 27th at 7:30 pm. Tony Tripoli is a regular opening act for Joan Rivers, and his hilarious stand-up can be seen all around the U.S., and on gay cruises. Currently, Tony is Head Writer/Senior Producer on E!'s hit show, "Fashion Police". He is also a Producer/Cast Member on "Joan And Melissa: Joan Knows Best" on WEtv, as well as the online phenomenon, "In Bed With Joan". Previously, he was the only male writer on STYLE'S first scripted comedy, "The Dish". ("The Soup" for gals and gays ... He was in heaven.) Call for cover/minimum information.

LOS ANGELES: LAURA DICKINSON AT HERB ALPERT'S VIBRATO

Laura Dickinson will perform at HERB ALPERT'S VIBRATO (2930 Bel Air Circle, Bel Air, CA - 310-474-9400) on Sunday, April 27th at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Laura is best known for her extensive work on the Disney Channel as a series regular on Phineas and Ferb and Sofia The First. She is also the singing voice of Tori Spelling's "Pirate Princess," Tiffani Thiessen's "Misty," and several other recurring characters on Jake and The Never Land Pirates, in addition to her work as a vocal contractor for Disney TV Animation. There is a $20 cover.

OAKLAND, CA: CATHI WALKUP SINGS THE LYRICS OF CATHI WALKUP

Cathi Walkup Sings The Lyrics of Cathi Walkup at BIRD'S NEST JAZZ at WATERPARK LOFTS (2875 Glascock Street #109, Oakland, CA - 510-534-6163) on Sunday, April 27th at 5:00 pm. Carthi will be accompanied by the Benny Watson Trio (Benny Watson - piano; Carla Kaufman - bass, Bob Blankenship - drums) and Special Guest Shanna Carlson. Cathi will be previewing original songs for a new CD she'll be releasing in the fall which she wished to share. From the achingly beautiful "Sail Away"(music by Hugo Wainzinger) about the journey of life, to the Beatles inspired "Don't Touch My Biscuit", (lyrics and music by me) an ode to Ole's Waffle Shop, a funky but fabulous diner in Alameda. OAKLAND, CA: THE MIKE ROSE/KELLY PARK BIG BAND AT THE SOUND ROOM

The Mike Rose/Kelly Park Big Band will perform on the last Sunday of every month at 5:00 pm at THE SOUND ROOM (2147 Broadway, Oakland, CA - 415-994-3501). The band is a seventeen piece Jazz Orchestra that truly takes joy in performing big band music of the past and present. This exciting ensemble plays some of the classic big band repertoire as well as original arrangements and compositions by members of the group. The band is comprised of veteran Bay Area musicians with an extensive history of playing, touring, and recording with some of the world's top acts including; Barry Manilow, Pete and Sheila Escovedo, Thad Jones, Kenny G, Stan Kenton Band, Eddie Money, The Shirelles, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Huey Lewis, and many more. SAN FRANCISCO: BARBARY COAST BURLESQUE RETURNS TO YOSHI'S

The Barbary Coast Burlesque returns toYOSHI'S (1330 Fillmore Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-655-5600) on Sunday, April 27th at 8:00 pm. Hostess of Ceremonies Honey Mahogany, of RuPaul's Drag Race, Season 5, presents a cast that includes Bunny Pistol, Lady Satan, Sugar Cane Jane, Dottie Lux, Babraham Lincoln, The Tartlettes and Erin Shredder. Honey Mahogany continues to grow as an artist and performer. Her most recent work is her debut EP: Honey Love. The EP is a collection of songs written and produced by Honey Mahogany in collaboration with Erik Ian Walker of WakoWorld Music. Honey Love gained national attention in the U.S. when a song from the EP "Shoulda Known Better" aired on episode 4 of the much anticipated HBO series Looking. Dinner/Show: $53 Show only: $20.

SAN FRANCISCO: COUNTESS KATYA SMIRNOFF-SKYY RETURNS TO FEINSTEIN'S

The Countess Katya Smirnoff-Skyy - San Francisco's favorite Russian redhead - returns to FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) for one-night-only with her hit show, Back in the USSR, A Voyage into the Beatles' Songbook on Sunday, April 27th at 8:00 pm. Hailed as the Best Drag Act by the San Francisco Bay Guardian, Katya will take audiences on a musical adventure that examines her personal relationship with the Fab Four, as only Russia's (self proclaimed) greatest mezzo-soprano-understudy-turned-Countess, could envision. It's Abby Road meets The Met with a good dose of cabaret. Katya will be joined by her marvelous band, "The Spectial Players," and the sultry Mz. Sheelagh Murphy. There is a $30-$45 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum
