PICK OF THE DAY - BOSTON: SUEDE AT SCULLERS

PICK OF THE DAY - BOSTON: SUEDE AT SCULLERS

Pop/Jazz/Blues artist Suede will perform at SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB (400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111) on Saturday, March 8th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm to make her long overdue return to Scullers with Fred Boyle, pianist, Rich Hill, bass and Steve Langone, drums. Suede plays piano, trumpet and guitar but voice is her first instrument and entertaining is clearly her first love. She is a consummate entertainer and song stylist among the likes of Tony Bennett, Michael Buble, and co., with a little Chris Botti or Louis Armstrong tossed in too. She's one part Rat Pack, one part Rosie Clooney. Think classic pop/jazz. Think steamy blues with a sizzling trumpet. Think love songs that'll make you swoon. Think funny. Think wow, what a set o' pipes! To celebrate her 25th anniversary as an independent artist on her own label, Easily Suede Music, Suede realized a lifelong dream of recording with her own big band. "Dangerous Mood" was recorded at the prestigious Bennett Studios and released to rave reviews far and wide. Her recording of Roxanna Ward's "Remember Who You Are" was featured on "The Young and The Restless." Her recording of the poignant "Emily Remembers," also from her CD "On the Day We Met," was named number one song of the year on WJZW radio in Washington, DC and has garnered national radio airplay. Suede can be heard on NPR and her DVD "Suede, Live at Scullers Jazz Club" has aired on 52 PBS stations to date as part of their fundraising drives. Dinner/Show: $70 Show only: $30.
