MANHATTAN: BILL SOLLY WITH SIMON MULLIGAN AT DON'T TELL MAMA

Bill Solly, a writer of songs and musicals that hardly anyone's ever heard of, will perform at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Monday, February 17th; Friday, February 21st; and Monday, March 3rd, all shows at 7:00 pm. Billy has nevertheless had an interesting life, full of songs and stories about his adventures in Canada, London, New York and Los Angeles, and he can't wait to tell about them. He will be joined by the distinguished pianist Simon Mulligan and guest artists will be Carl Anthony Tramon (February 17th & March 3rd) and Elizabeth Inghram (February 21st & March 3rd). In Canada he contributed to My Fur Lady, Jubilee, Spring Thaw, Clap Hands, and many CBC radio and TV shows, but his focus was always musicals. Let the Piper Come, one of his first, was based on L.M. Montgomery's Rainbow Valley; then there was a big musical about the St. Lawrence Seaway called Strawberry that almost - but didn't happen. In England for fifteen years, Solly wrote for Maurice Chevalier, Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, Annie Ross, Danny La Rue, Marty Feldman, Matt Monro, Brigitte Bardot, Max Bygraves and George Burns, collaborated with Charles Aznavour, Serge Gainsbourg and Denis King, and had five (now six) productions in the West End: Sweet William, Ad Lib, Queen Passionella and the Sleeping Beauty, Danny La Rue at the Palace and The Great American Backstage Musical. The latter (book with Donald Ward) originated in Los Angeles. Also with Ward Solly has had six other musicals in New York including the 1975 Off Broadway hit Boy Meets Boy, recently premiered in London with great success. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SJOSTROM WITH A J - ERIN SJOSTROM

Erin Sjostrom will bring her show Sjostrom with a J to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Monday, March 3rd at 9:30 pm. She will invite you on her journey through the highs and lows of being a chocolate-loving, incapable-of-sticking-to-a-budget, shoe-obsessed, relationship-challenged, musical theatre-performing, New York City-dwelling lady. There is a $5 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

MANHATTAN: MICHELLE DOWDY CD RELEASE SHOW AT THE MET

On Monday, March 3rd at 9:30 pm THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) presents the CD release for 'A Brass Act: Starring Michelle Dowdy from Broadway's Hairspray' featuring songs from the American Songbook. The album will also be release on iTunes the same day and a limited edition 12" Vinyl edition will be available by pre-order. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

MANHATTAN:BETH LEAVEL IN SOLO CONCERT DEBUT AT 54 BELOW

Tony Award winner Beth Leavel makes her solo concert debut at at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday, March 3rd at 7:00 pm. The show is an evening of songs and stories collected from her amazing 30-year showbiz journey. From her Tony-winning, scene-stealing performance as the title character in The Drowsy Chaperone to her Tony-nominated performance in Baby, It's You! to leading the cast of Mamma Mia! in spandex and spangles, Beth has become one of Broadway's favorite leading ladies. She has also starred on Broadway in Elf, Young Frankenstein, The Civil War, Show Boat, and both original and revival productions of 42nd Street! This is a celebration of Beth's Tony and Drama Desk-winning career with new songs, old favorites and a few surprising stories. There is a $35-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

MANHATTAN: THE BEST OF "RIDICULOUSLY TALENTED COMPOSERS AND LYRICISTS YOU PROBABLY DON'T KNOW BUT SHOULD": PART II

Two-time Tony Award winner William Finn presents a night of "Songs by Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyricists you Probably Don't Know but Should," at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday, March 3rd at 9:30 pm. The show will be celebrating the work of young writers mentored by the composer of Falsettos, A New Brain, The 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee, Elegies, and this season's Little Miss Sunshine. Originating at Barrington Stage Company (BSC) and now in its 8th year, the "Ridiculously Talented" concert series has become a hallmark of BSC's Musical Theatre Lab, where Mr. Finn serves as Artistic Producer. Mr. Finn explains what makes a good song great as he hosts this evening of personal favorites from the BSC series, featuring past cast members Aidan Gemme, Alyse Alan Louis, Anne L. Nathan, Celisse Henderson, Elizabeth Stanley, Jeremy Morse, Joelle Lurie, Michael Linden, Mykal Kilgore & George Salazar, and showcasing work by Danny Abosch, Nikko Benson, Noel Carey, Maggie-Kate Coleman, Jeremy Desmon, Vadim Feichner, Josh Freilich, Oliver Hauser, Joe Iconis, Anna Jacobs, Salomon Lerner, Sean Patterson, Eric Price, Sam Salmond, Jahn Sood, Joseph Trefler, Sarah Underwood, Joel Waggoner and William Finn! The concert is produced and directed by Shakina Nayfack. Jeremy R. Lyons music directs. There is a $30-$40 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

MANHATTAN: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS - NOW AT THE IGUANA

Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. There is a $15 cover (at the door) plus a $15 food drink minimum.
