NYC: CABARET CARES CELEBRATES HERMAN & HAMLISCH

Cabaret Cares continues on Friday, March 7th at 7:00 pm at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) with a celebration of the music of Marvin Hamlisch and Jerry Herman. The evening will feature performances by Bernard Dotson, Valerie Lemon, Samara Ariel, Anthony Santlemo Jr., Aaron Lee Battle, Carolyn Montgomery-Forant, Nesha Ward, Georga Osborne and Karen Mason. The evening will be musical directed by Jeff Cubeta. The evening will benefit Help Is On The Way Today, a non for profit organization that helps assists children living with HIVand AIDS. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

MANHATTAN: 3 BITCHES & AN ASIAN AT THE DUPLEX

3 Bitches & an Asian will be presented at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, March 7th at 7:00 pm. Four twenty-somethings reveal what coming of age means to a generation we thought had been jaded by Perez Hilton and Facebook. A mix of tongue-in-cheek standup with pop, classical, rock, jazz, funk, broadway music and original songs by recording artist Angela Wingrove. Featuring Elisa Halma, Laura Snell, and Robert Graham. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: FRINGE HIT 'GAY CAMP' RETURNS TO THE DUPLEX

Following last summer's hit run at the New York International Fringe Festival, the award winning "Best Ensemble" of Christian Mansfield, Philip Mutz, and Ken Urso are back for another summer of GAY CAMP at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Fridays, March 7th, 14th & 28th at 9:30 pm. 'Confused' campers Josh and Anton are shipped off to Camp Acceptance where they encounter an evil headmaster, electrified fences, disco balls, Michelle Bachmann, and more innuendos than you can shake a dildo at! It's gay. It's camp. It's GAY CAMP! There is a $7 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

MANHATTAN: SARAH OGDEN & MITCH RAFTERY: EMBRACE THE CHEESE

Sarah Ogden and Mitch Raftery star in "Embrace the Cheese" a fun musical revue featuring pop, rock, broadway, and opera at STAGE 72(158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) on Friday, March 7th at 7:00 pm. Sarah and Mitch searched high and low to find the cheesiest songs in music history. This evening promises to make you smile in delight at songs that remind you of the good times. And yes, there may be a few songs you love to hate too. They promise to stuff you with cheese, but the good news is your waistline will remain the same size. You may even lose an inch or two from laughing too hard. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: TONY WINNER STEW TO PLAY 54 BELOW

Tony Award winner Stew will bring "The New Stew Review" to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Friday & Saturday, March 7th & 8th at 8:00 pm. A Tony Award winner for Passing Strange and leader of The Negro Problem, this will mark us 54 Below debut. The evening will be an eclectic mix of his theatre work and other collaborations, featuring some very special guests. 54 Below audiences will be the first to hear songs from The Total Bent, Family Album, Resurrection City, and more. There is a $45-$55 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

MANHATTAN: CYNTHIA SAYER DEBUTS "THE BANJO SHOW"

Cynthia Sayer, the internationally celebrated jazz banjoist, will lead her all-star quartet in "The Banjo Show" atJOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Friday, March 7th at 7:00 pm. The founding member of Woody Allen's jazz band, who honed her virtuoso chops playing with many legendary artists, •is on a mission to popularize the 4-string banjo, the cultured cousin of the familiar 5-string bluegrass banjo. Sayer's vocals are divine and her banjo a driving force of nature - think Django Reinhardt meets Bela Fleck - as she swings her audience through the colorful story and surprising range of what the 4-string can do, including hot jazz, tango, Great American Songbook, vaudeville, classical, roots music and more. Accompanying Sayer for "The Banjo Show" will be Dennis Litchtman on clarinet and fiddle, Jared Engel on string bass, Larry Eagle on drums, and some surprises. Tickets are $20.
