NYC: SANDY BAINUM RETURNS WITH ACCLAIMED 'SIMPLY' SHOW

Songstress Sandy Bainum will return to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, July 20th at 4:00 pm with her cabaret show entitled Sandy Bainum - Simply based on her recent album, also called Simply. The show is directed by Bruce Kimme with Musical Direction by Lanny Meyers. After successful performances in DC and LA, Sandy comes to New York with a show that's filled with memorable tunes from the Great American Songbook and beyond: from the joyous "A Cockeyed Optimist" from South Pacific and the glorious "Goodnight, My Someone" from The Music Man, to the pop hit "You and Me Against the World" and the electric "On the Other Side of the Tracks" from Little Me, these are songs that exemplify timeless, straightforward sentiments and beautiful melodies. Whether joyous, rueful, funny or hopeful, they are musical moments filled with warmth, heart, humor and joy ... simply enchanting. Sandy, a regular on the Washington, DC theatre scene, made her Broadway debut in David Merrick's legendary production of 42nd Street. She has since performed leading roles in most of Washington's top theatres including the Kennedy Center, Washington Savoyards, the Signature Theatre and Ford's Theater, appearing in productions including Jason Robert Brown's Parade, an innovative production of Hamlet for DC's Fringe Festival and as Peggy Lee in the world premiere production of Ladies Swing the Blues. For Signature Theatre, Sandy participated in a reading of the new musical version of Beaches and recently appeared as Susan in their acclaimed production of Company and Tessie Tura in their recent production of Gypsy. NYC: "RED HOT MAMA: THE SOPHIE TUCKER FAREWELL TOUR"

Tony nominated Sharon McNight is bringing back her hit show "Red Hot Mama" for one last time. "Red Hot Mama: The Sophie Tucker Farewell Tour" will be presented at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, July 20th at 7:00 pm; Wednesday, July 23rd at 9:30 pm; Friday, August 1st at 9:30 pm; and Sunday August 3rd at 9:30 pm. The comic singer originally performed this show, with a sold out run at the fabled Rainbow in Stars back in 1996. She followed that with a four-month, Off-Broadway run at the York Theatre. McNight just completed eight weeks as Mrs. Obrien in the San Francisco Opera's production of "Show Boat," soon to be seen on PBS. NYC: "TIME TO START LIVING – A NEW YORK LOVE STORY"

David B. Martin brings his show "Time to start Living – A New York Love Story" toTHE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE(61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, July 20th at 4:30 pm. The show is sub-titled: How I met my wife the love of my life! Musical director is Stephen Cornine and Scott Coulter serves as Artistic Director. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: I FEEL A SONG COMIN' ON - BENEFIT FOR THE ACTORS FUND

Liz Callaway and Peter Gallagher host a memorable night of music featuring two acclaimed song stylists, Carol Skarimbas and Larry Woodard in their highly acclaimed show I Feel a Song Comin' On at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday, July 20th at 7:00 pm. These two seasoned pros provide an unforgettable night of great songs and exhilarating vocals, with all proceeds benefiting the programs and Services of The Actors Fund (http://www.actorsfund.org ). Carol has performed roles with New York City Opera and symphonies across the country. With a cabaret resume that features Merkin Concert Hall and Danny's Skylight Room, Carol's remarkable range stretches from Strauss to Sondheim. The MAC award winning singer/pianist Larry Woodard has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, the Russian Tea Room, The Oak Room as well as The White House. NYC: ASPECTS OF ANDREW: LLOYD WEBBER AT 54 BELOW

On Sunday, July 20th at 9:30 pm, 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) will salute the artistry of Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, the celebrated composer who has left an indelible mark on Broadway, the West End & popular music. Cats. The Phantom of the Opera. Evita. Jesus Christ Superstar. Starlight Express. Sunset Boulevard. Aspects of Love. Song & Dance .... the list goes on. Aspects of Andrew runs the gamut from the humor of Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat & By Jeeves, to the high flying (adored) diva tunes that populate some of the most beloved musicals of the past half century. Performers: Kelli Rabke, Julie Reiber, Leenya Rideout, Rob Maitner, Derrick Cobey, Heather MacRae, Julie Reyburn, Brian Charles Rooney, Raissa Katona Bennett, Leah Horowitz, and special guest Karen Mason. There is a $30-$40 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: MARK JANAS' SALON: "SUMMER SALSA - A CELEBRATION OF ALL THINGS LATIN"

SALON - that unique, Multiple Award Winning, Weekly Open Mic Event, created and hosted by Mark Janas continues at ETCETERA ETCETERA(352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141) on Sundays from 7:00 to 10:30 pm (sign-up begins at 6:15 pm). The optional theme for Sunday evening July 20th is "Summer Salsa - A Celebration of All Things Latin". Co-host will be Joey Infante. Remember, any material, on or off theme, is always welcome at Salon. There are no reservations; seating is on a first come/ first served basis, with one intermission.
