NYC: MAC PRESENTS "THEY WRITE THE SONGS" NOVEMBER 16th
FEATURED CABARET ORGANIZATION EVENT

MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) will present the 3rd Annual "MAC presents THEY WRITE THE SONGS" on Sunday, November 16th at 4:00 pm at ENGELMAN RECITAL HALL AT THE BARUCH PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (Lexington Avenue at 25th Street, NYC). This annual show presents the work of selected songwriters, highlighting both those who are well-established, and those who are on the rise and creating great new work. The songwriters selected to present their songs at this year's show are Amanda Green, Georgia Stitt, Rick Jensen, Ritt Henn, Drew Fornarola, Joshua Cohen, and Tracy Stark. The host for the evening will be Grammy award winning songwriter Julie Gold. Tracy Stark will be the musical director. Performers scheduled to appear include Elena Shaddow, Caitlin Kinnunen, Jessica Vosk, Marissa Mulder, Julie Reyburn Eric Yves Garcia, Justin Ritchie, Mary Foster Conklin, Stearns Matthews, Jamie Salzano, and more. In addition, MAC will announce this year's recipients of the two annual songwriting awards presented by MAC each year: the Dottie Burman award, and the John Wallowitch award. Songs written by these recipients will also be performed at the show. The event will culminate with an interview of songwriter Amanda Green conducted by host Julie Gold, and a performance of several of her songs. Amanda Green is the lyricist of several recent Broadway shows including High Fidelity, Hands on a Hardbody, and Bring It On. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day of show. Order before November 1st with the code EARLYBIRD for $15 tickets. 

NYC: KEVIN SCOTT HALL'S THAT SINGING FEELING SHOWCASE

Singer/ Teacher/ Critic/ Director Kevin Scott Hall presents six singers from his intensive workshop at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, November 16th at 4:30 pm. Each performs a ten-minute set. Cast includes Letitia Adams, India Alexis, Nathan Johnson, Tina Owens, Carlos Pinero, and Claudia Rodriguez Tressler. Kenneth Gartner is musical director. There is a $14 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: MINDA LARSEN SINGS JOHNNY MERCER - TRAV'LIN' LIGHT

Jacksonville, Florida native Minda Larsen will bring her show 'Minda Larsen Sings Johnny Mercer - Trav'lin' Light' to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, November 16th at 4:00 pm. Minda moved to New York to study opera at the Manhattan School of Music. She has performed with the New York Philharmonic, American Symphony Orchestra, Little Orchestra Society, and at Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, and the TriBeCa New Music Festival; as well as with numerous other symphonies and orchestras. She premiered Paul McCartney's symphony Ecce Cor Meum at Carnegie Hall. Most recently she was seen in the Emmy Award winning Carousel! with the New York Philharmonic, which was also televised for PBS: Live from Lincoln Center. Musical Direction by Neal Kirkwood and directed by Peter Napolitano. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
