She will be joined by internationally renowned flutist/singer, Laura Intravia and pianist/arranger John M. Cook, Josephine breaks new ground with her first foray into the world of jazz. With new and innovative interpretations of staples from the American Songbook, along with some lesser-known gems from the international music scene, she proves to be a singer/stylist of the first rank. NYC: JULIAN YEO AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

An original retro-jazz-vocalist with a unique "new-old" approach, Julian Yeo performs at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, November 16th at 9:30 pm. Julian blends old school soul with celebrated qualities of today (and sometimes with a twist). Following Julian's critically acclaimed debut CD album 'Old, New, Borrowed, Blue', Julian's CD 'Unusual Passage' is an experience that's quaint but highly addictive. His forthcoming albums "Deep Purple Dreams" and "Homage" are due to be released in January of 2010. It has been an uncommon musical path for international jazz/cabaret vocalist Julian Yeo. His path to singing in the cabarets of New York City began many miles away. An Australian of Asian descent, Julian was a shy kid decades away from his own personal musical heroes like dapper Fred Astaire. It's not surprising that a retro sound comes so naturally to him. Singers from the 1920s and 30s are what he most likes listening to: Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire, Rudy Vallee, Arthur Tracy ("The Street Singer"), early Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald, vocalists from the "sweet bands". There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Bufford, Jessica Hendy, Mary Lane Haskell, Kelli Rabke, Lorinda Lisitza, Lucia Spina, Lennie Watts and Brian Charles Rooney. There is a $35-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
