MATINEE CABARET TODAY IN NYC: PATRICIA ADAMS - THIS JOINT IS JUMPIN'
Patricia Adams presents her show This Joint is Jumpin' atTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, May 25th at 4:00 pm. Patricia's repertoire returns you to an era of speakeasies, spats and supper clubs - when movies were in black-and-white and jazz was boozy, bluesy and undefined. From the stacks and stacks of wonderful repertoire of Tin Pan Alley and Harlem renaissance, Patricia engages listeners with not so standard standards by known and unknown composers but always with a beat that swings and keeps your toes tappin' and fingers snappin'.
She and her and her accompanist, Steve Wright on piano, promise a fun Sunday afternoon of jazz. Stepping onto a nightclub stage for the first time in 1992 at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston, Adams segued to designated show opener there. Many open mics, pro bono gigs, marketing press kits and phone calls later, her venues now attract those who enjoy the jazz and blues standards of the 1930's and '40's. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.copyright 2014 - See cabaret listings from all over the world at CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE
