NYC: LUCILLE CARR-KAFFASHAN CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF BEATLES MUSIC

Lucille Carr-Kaffashan was one of almost 56,000 ecstatic fans who cheered for The Beatles during their unprecedented outdoor concert at Shea Stadium on August 15, 1965. This spring, Lucille brings her own version of Beatlemania to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788), New York City's legendary cabaret theater and piano bar, with In My Life, Celebrating 50 Years of Beatles Music. With musical director Jeff Cubeta on piano, Sean Harkness on guitar, and Jacob Silver on bass, Lucille will perform In My Life on Tuesday, May 27th and on Saturday, June 7th. Both shows are at 7:00 pm. With direction by Eric Michael Gillett and musical arrangements by David Brunetti, this show features a selection of songs released by the Fab Four during the eight years that they recorded together, from 1962 to 1970. NYC: BARRET IS BACK ON RESTAURANT ROW
Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE (313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. There is no cover charge.

This is Your Night!(TM) is series of shows at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) and hosted by Metropolitan Room Managing Partner, Bernie Furshpan. Each show profiles a guest honoree who has contributed in some significant way to the NYC Entertainment Industry. It can include, but not limited to: photographers, writers, bloggers, press, promoters, management, publicists, directors, musical directors, producers, etc. The show presents a gift to the honorree, and includes a line-up of entertainment professionals who will share stories, song and comedy about their experiences and ends with a grand finale, a reunion. The show on Tuesday, May 27th will salute Peter Leavy, Publisher at CABARET SCENES MAGAZINE. Scheduled to perform are Eric Michael Gillett, Karen Oberlin, Frank Dain, Ricky Ritzel, Baby Jane Dexter, Laurie Krauz, Iris Williams, Jeff Harnar, Chris Mazzilli, Tom Gamblin, Liz McKendry, Barbara Leavy and Lynn DiMenna. As with all live entertainment events, cast subject to change without notice. The show presents a gift to the honorree, and includes a line-up of entertainment professionals who will share stories, song and comedy about their experiences and ends with a grand finale, a reunion. A portion of the revenue will be given to the Guest of Honor's Charity of Choice. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: JAZZ LEGEND ANNIE ROSS TUESDAYS THE METROPOLITAN ROOM
Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: DANCING WITH DEATH - THOMAS HONECK
The award winning Entertainer of Himself, Thomas Honeck, returns toTHE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE(61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Tuesday, May 27th at 7:00 pm for his 3rd solo show after a 7 year hiatus. The show - 50 years in the Making- is a ruminating rumba on his relationship with Death and how her choreography has influenced his life. The dance card will be one of Music, Merriment and Madness- well, just a touch. The show is directed by his creative partner, Lisa Moss and musically directed by Andrew Sotomayor, with cello by Jordan Jancz. Major Scales' Minor Breakdown: Songs Not Ready For Broadway is an evening of the prolific composer's original songs for his original Broadway shows that have yet to be written. The always-debonair Major Scales will be there to lead you through his ditties, divorced from plot, with a half-smile and half-full Manhattan. Be one of the first to hear these never-before-staged songs in search of a musical! Major Scales is the evil twin of Richard Andriessen, a musician, writer and performer based in Seattle. NYC: SETH BISEN-HERSH'S 300TH SHOWCASE EXTRAVAGANZA
As of this May, Seth Bisen-Hersh will have produced, emceed and accompanied 300 showcases. To celebrate he is putting on the 300th Showcase Extravaganza at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) consisting of six concerts of his work with 84 showcase alumni. Show are scheduled for Tuesdays, May 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th; Friday, May 9th; and Thursday, May 22nd, all shows at 7:00 pm. Each evening will contain 20 songs from his musicals and cabarets over the years. There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: LINZI HATELEY: SINCE CARRIE AT 54 BELOW
Linzi Hateley, the celebrated star of the not-so-celebrated Broadway production of Carrie, makes a triumphant return to the New York stage with Linzi Hateley: since Carrie at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Tuesday, May 27th at 7:00 pm. Acclaimed in London, this concert is an intimate look at her fascinating career in the theatre. The Theatre World Award winner and Olivier Award nominee will share songs and stories from the many musicals she's starred in in the West End, including Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, Chicago, The Secret Garden, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Les Miserables, as well as her starring role in the most infamous Broadway flop of all time. NYC: TAMARA TUNIE WITH SOUNDS OF PITTSBURGH
Tamara Tunie celebrates the music of the legendary artists that hail from Pittsburgh, PA: the city of Three Rivers in her show at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Tuesday, May 27th at 9:30 pm. From Lena Horne and Henry Mancini, to Phyllis Hyman and George Benson, Tamara will celebrate the variety of composers and singers in two concerts at 54 Below. Renowned for her starring roles in films such as FLIGHT with Denzel Washington, television series like "Law and Order: SVU" and the Sundance Channel's "The Red Road" and on Broadway in Julius Ceasar and Dreamgirls, Ms. Tunie holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University, and has performed in jazz concerts at the Allen Room/ Jazz at Lincoln Center and Feinstein's with incomparable musicians such as Mike Renzi, Ted Firth, and Roger Humphries. She has also performed for the Mabel Mercer Foundation at Town Hall and at Symphony Space, bringing down the house with music from Billie "Lady Day" Holiday to Cole Porter. Her performances in All That Jazz have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Penn State University/Allegheny County's Student Scholarship Fund. 59E59 Theaters presents the US premiere of SIMON GREEN: SO, THIS THEN IS LIFE, created by Simon Green and David Shrubsole, performed by Mr. Green, with musical arrangement and accompaniment by Mr. Shrubsole. The show explores paths un-trod, mistakes repeated, and ridiculous responses to an ever-changing world. Simon Green and David Shrubsole cast their gaze over life's rude awakenings. Reteaming after their Drama Desk-nominated Traveling Light, Green and Shrubsole concoct a theatrical marriage of words and music that transports audiences to a former, more innocent incarnation of themselves. Simon Green: So, This Then Is Life begins performances at 59E59 THEATERS (59 East 59th Street, NYC - 212-279-4200) on Tuesday, May 20th for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 1st. Megan Kathleen Hilty is an American musical theatre and television actress, and singer. She rose to prominence for her roles in several Broadway musicals including her performance as Glinda in Wicked and her portrayal of Doralee Rhodes in 9 to 5: The Musical. Her best known role was as Ivy Lynn on the 2012-2013 musical-drama TV series Smash, on which she sang many original songs, including the Grammy Award-nominated "Let Me Be Your Star".
