BOSTON: LAUREN KINHAN CD RELEASE SHOW

Lauren Kinhan will celebrate the release of her new CD "Circle in a Square" atSCULLERS JAZZ CLUB(400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111) on Wednesday, May 28th at 8:00 pm. Lauren is a tremendously gifted jazz singer. Vocalist and Composer Lauren Kinhan has been creating genre-merging music for years as evidenced on her CD's, Avalon (E One 2010) and Hardly Blinking (2000) and her contributions to New York Voices' many recordings. Her musical ideas shake up the traditional confines of jazz, pop and everything in between and offer instead, the listener an experience led by an accomplished creative and curious mind. TORONTO: THE SOUL NANNIES AT JAZZ BISTRO

Soul Nannies, a 9-Piece R&B, Fun & Soul Band Featuring Andrew Craig will perform at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Wednesday, May 28th at 8:00 pm. Earth, Wind and Fire; Sly and the Family Stone; Kool and the Gang; Ike and Tina Turner; Aretha Franklin; Patti Labelle; James Brown; Michael Jackson; Stevie Wonder: these artists defined the sound of the 1960s and 70s, and changed popular music forever. The Soul Nannies, Toronto's nine-piece supergroup, bring back the classic soul, funk and R & B sounds from these artists and their contemporaries. Founded and directed by music maestro Andrew Craig, The Soul Nannies deliver faithful renditions of top hits from the era, in the style of a high-energy 1960s revue. The Soul Nannies provide the full entertainment experience: virtuosity, musicality, familiarity, comedy and audience participation, all rolled into one glorious spectacle. There is a $10 cover.

WASHINGTON, DC: EC3 CD RELEASE AT BLUES ALLEY

Acclaimed drummer EC3 will appear at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Wednesday, May 28th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. When EC3 hits the stage with his ensemble, audiences immediately know they are in for a high-octane good time. Performing a range of music from Afro-Cuban, Latin Jazz to straight ahead swing, even the most casual jazz listener will be grooving in their seat. In the tradition of Tito Puente and Max Roach, EC3 leaves it all on the stage. This performance will celebrate the release of his new CD, "It's All About The Rhythm." BETHESDA MD: PETER & WILL ANDERSON TRIO WITH ALEX WINTZ

The Peter & Will Anderson Trio, featuring Alex Wintz, will perform at BETHESDA BLUES & JAZZ SUPPER CLUB (7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD - 240-330-4500) on Wednesday, May 28th at 7:30 pm. First influenced by Charlie Parker and Dexter Gordon, as young as 15 they toured the U.K., playing traditional jazz and swing music. Born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, they were mentored by saxophonist, Texas-native Paul Carr, before attending Juilliard in New York City, where they currently reside. Peter and Will Anderson's expertise has made them saxophonists of choice for Wynton Marsalis, Jimmy Heath, the Village Vanguard Orchestra, Wycliffe Gordon, and the New York City Ballet. Leading their own ensemble, they've performed at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, Iridium, Symphony Space, Blues Alley, Mid-Atlantic Jazz Fest, New Jersey Jazz Society, Pennsylvania Jazz Society, 54 Below, Highlights in Jazz, Buck-Hill Skytop Music Fest, Treetops Music Fest, Central Illinois Jazz Fest, Jacob Burns Film Center, Louis Armstrong House,Sarasota Jazz Fest, Hilton Head's Jazz Corner, and JAZZIZ Nightlife in Boca Raton. They've co-led three 4-week running Off-Broadway jazz shows at 59E59 Theaters; "Artie Shaw at 100" (2010), "The Fabulous Dorseys" (2012), and "Le Jazz Hot" (2013), the last of which broke 59E59′s box-office sales records. There is a $20 cover.
