MUST SEE CABARET THURSDAY IN NYC: TONIA TECCE MAKES HER LONG-DELAYED NYC CABARET DEBUT


Singer Tonia Tecce, who has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Academy of Music and sung with Peter Nero and many orchestra, will make her New York City cabaret debut at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) with a three-night engagement. Final performance is Thursday, September 26th at 9:30 pm. Her show, A COCKEYED OPTIMIST: Why We Believe, The Songs of Richard Rodgers, has been written and directed by Michael Bush who has recently directed the Off-Broadway productions of PSYCHO THERAPY, CACTUS FLOWER and BASED ON A TOTALLY TRUE STORY. Music Director Tom Lawton is a performer, recording artist, composer and teacher. Ms Tecce, who is in her mid-70s, began singing in her home town of Paulsboro, NJ at age 8. She studied music and voice and performed extensively and was headed for a music career when love intervened. One week after singing at her graduation from Rosemont College, she married Frederick Tecce and devoted the next twenty-five years to raising their six children. She now has 12 grandchildren! There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
