CABARET TONIGHT IN TORONTO: MICHEL BERUBE - A TRIBUTE TO GREAT SONGWRITERS
After performing to a packed house in early July, Michel Berube returns to THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299)on Tuesday, September 24th at 8:30 pm. Accompanied by his Musical Director Mark Lalama on piano, Michel will present an evening of intimate, passionate and reflective songs in both French and English by some of the most celebrated composers of our time including Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf, Randy Newman, Michel Legrand, Leonard Cohen and Jimmy Webb. Michel has the distinction of having recorded duets with two musical icons, Chrissie Hynde and Jennifer Warnes. He has received rave reviews for his recent album of French classic songs and standing ovations for his interpretation of jazz standards. He has lived in Toronto since 1999 studying, recording and performing everywhere from Jazz Festivals in Toronto, Barrie and Peterborough to The Top o' The Senator to Casino Rama, making his USA debut at the prestigious Town Hall in New York City. He has shared the bill with the likes of Jennifer Warnes, The Faith Chorale, Jackie Richardson, Amy Sky, Steven Paige, Kenny Rogers, Chantal Kreviazuk, Louise Pitre and Amanda McBroom to name but a few. In the autumn of 2012, Jennifer Warnes asked Michel to join her on tour to perform Up Where We Belong with her, the Grammy and Oscar winning hit she recorded with Joe Cocker. There is a $15 cover.
