LONDON: GREGG EDELMAN AT CRAZY COQS
Four times TONY Award nominee and veteran of 15 Broadway shows, Gregg Edelman presents BROADWAY STATE OF MIND at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Saturday, October 21st through October 25th at 8:00 pm. Musical Director is Christopher Denny. From Stephen Sondheim and Hal Prince to Cy Coleman and Trevor Nunn, Gregg shares music from the great Broadway productions he has starred in, alongside unmissable insider stories about life on and off the Broadway stage. Gregg has starred in a string of Broadway shows including Cats and Anything Goes, which led to his starring role in City of Angels in 1989. His performance as Stine garnered Gregg his first Tony nomination and consolidated his position as one of the most highly regarded romantic Broadway leads of his generation. In 1994, Gregg originated the role of Colonel Ricci in Stephen Sondheim's award-winning musical Passion, which led to Sondheim casting Gregg as Prince Charming in Into The Woods and Sweeney in Sweeney Todd. Other celebrated roles have been Javert in Les Miserables, Robert Baker in the revival of Wonderful Town and Dr. Alexandre Manette in A Tale of Two Cities. Gregg also appears with several leading orchestras. His many appearances at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops have given Gregg the opportunity to honour such friends as Kander & Ebb, Jerry Herman and Charles Strouse. LONDON: LATE NIGHT JAZZ: NATALIE WILLIAMS WITH GWILYM SIMCOCK
Award winning jazz & soul singer songwriter Natalie Williams returns to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888 - ) on Friday & Saturday, October 23rd & 24th at 10:30 pm for a very special residency with one of the world's most renowned jazz pianists and composers, Gwilym Simcock. The show is part of the club's Late Night Jazz series. Natalie Williams is a MOBO nominated jazz and soul vocalist. Her 7 year sold out residency Soul Family Sundays at Ronnie Scott's has seen her perform to over 20,000 fans and she has performed at many leading live music events all over the world, including opening many jazz festivals. Gwilym Simcock, BBC Radio 3 Jazz Award winner and first ever BBC Radio 3 New Generations Jazz Artist is one of the most gifted pianists and imaginative composers on the European scene. As a composer his many commissions have included work for the BBC Proms and London Symphony Orchestra. This Spring he released two highly acclaimed albums on ACT, "Instrumation", with the City of London Sinfonia and "Reverie at Schloss Elmau" a duo with his long time collaborator, bassist Yuri Goloubev.
