NYC: BARRET IS BACK ON RESTAURANT ROW 

Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE (313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. The Mabel Mercer Foundation presents the New York Cabaret Convention at FREDERICK P. ROSE HALL (Columbus Circle, Broadway at 60th Street, NYC - CenterCharge: 212-721-6500) on Monday through Thursday, October 20th through 23rd all shows at 6:00 pm. The Third Show of the Conventions is "SOMETHING SORT OF GRANDISH" - Burton Lane & Yip Harburg on Wednesday, October 22nd - hosted by Jeff Harnar & Andrea Marcovicci: Performers are Karen Akers, Brent Barrett, Anna Bergman, Carole J. Bufford, Jim Caruso, Eric Comstock, Natalie Douglas, Christine Ebersole, Barbara Fasano, Richard Holbrook, Will & Anthony Nunziata, Sally Mayes, Jennifer Sheehan, Gabrielle Stravelli, Billy Stritch, Iris Williams. Presentation of The Donald F. Smith Award Underwritten by Adela and Larry Elow to Jennifer Sheehan. As with all live entertainment events, cast subject to change without notice. Since its inception in 1989, the Convention has hosted more than a thousand performers, all of whom work in their own ways to keep alive the tradition of cabaret in this country and abroad. The Foundation continues to keep some tickets for each performance priced at an incredible $25 per seat plus outreach to senior centers and complimentary tickets to high schools in the greater New York area. NYC: MAXINE LINEHAN: BEAUTIFUL SONGS

After a critically acclaimed run of her solo show An American Journey, Maxine Linehan will next present Beautiful Songs at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesdays in October, the 1st, 8th, 8th, & 15th at 7:00 pm and the 22nd at 9:30 pm. This new show was created and directed for Maxine by Scott Siegel. This brand new show will be an exploration of what makes a song not just pretty, but beautiful. Singing songs from a wide variety of genres from Broadway, folk, pop, and beyond, the critically acclaimed Maxine Linehan will give audiences a rare hour filled with beauty created from irresistible melodies, with elegant and incisive lyrics. Beauty, of course, is in the eyes (and the ears) of the beholder, so you are invited to come and behold Beautiful Songs. Maxine made her professional debut with The Irish Operatic Repertory Company at age 17. In 2009 she created and performed a cabaret act as a tribute to Petula Clark, which later led to an independent studio album. Most recently, Maxine performed a sold out run of her solo show An American Journey both at Birdland and at Terminus Recording Studios in Times Square. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: HILARY KOLE AT CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA

Jazz vocalist Hilary Kole can be found every Wednesday night from 7:00 to 11:00 pm at CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA(178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900 - ), NYC's intimate downtown live music supper club. Long a beloved staple on the NYC jazz scene and world-renowned as a multi-faceted concert hall and symphony performer, Hilary Kole has emerged triumphantly from a difficult three-year legal struggle to put out a recording - and found her true musical heart in the process. On her new independent full-length album, the acclaimed vocalist and musician paints A Self-Portrait with illuminating stylistic brushstrokes and an expansive repertoire that takes her far beyond her storied roots as a purveyor of the Great American Songbook. Back, better than ever and baring her jazz and pop soul like never before, Hilary celebrates life free of limitations and full of optimism. There is a $20 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum. NYC: KARMYN TYLER AT WEST END LOUNGE

Former Miss Louisiana, Karmyn Tyler, will perform at THE WEST END (955 West End Avenue, NYC - 212-531-4759 - ) on Wednesday, October 22nd at 8:30 pm. Karmyn will sings songs that help tell the juicy secrets and jaw-dropping stories of her life in pageants and how being on the set of Desperate Housewives helped her find the love of her life! Karmyn was born on Broadway in Hot Springs, Arkansas and has now made her way to Broadway in New York City. Call for cover/minimum information. 

NYC: DONNY MOST AT 54 BELOW

Donny Most, best known as "Ralph Malph" from the long running hit television show Happy Days, and his 7 piece band, bring the songs of Sinatra, Darin, Martin, and more to life through his interpretations and creative arrangements at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 - ) on Wednesday, October 22nd at 7:00 pm. The swing era and 50s cool are fused together in one very unique show as Donny shares stories from Happy Days and beyond. Recently, Donny was seen in a recurring role on the hit TV show Glee, as well as a starring role in the indie film The Yankles. Join him at 54 Below for his NYC solo concert debut! There is a $30-$40 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: SETH SIKES IN 54 BELOW CABARET DEBUT

Seth Sikes makes his cabaret debut at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 - ) on Wednesday, October 22nd at 9:30 pm. He will present an evening of Judy Garland's most celebrated songs - some of them in her key. Mostly known in the theater as an Assistant Director (for shows like The Nance, Tribes, and Pageant), Sikes gets on the stage this time with a band to recount how Garland captivated him as a young boy in Paris, TX, and to sing her greatest hits. Surprise special guests may also appear. Tere is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: BUSTER POINDEXTER AT THE CAFE CARYLE

Buster Poindexter will perform at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) on Tuesday through Saturday, October 21st through 25th at 8:45 pm. Buster Poindexter is the alter ego of New York Dolls frontman David Johansen. Johansen re-recorded the track "Heart of Gold" as Buster Poindexter, which originally appeared on Johansen's 1981 solo album Here Comes the Night. The song "Hot Hot Hot" was a Billboard single and received heavy play on MTV. There is a $50-$130 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
