The Aardvark Jazz Orchestra, one of the longest running large jazz ensembles in the world, will perform at SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB(400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111) on Wednesday, October 1st at 8:00 pm. The legendary band kicks off its 42nd season with a CD release party, featuring music by Mark Harvey, Dizzy Gillespie, Django Reinhardt, and Mary Lou Williams. Call for cover/minimum information.

THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) presents one of New York City's preeminent artists on Thursday through Saturday, October 2nd through 4th at 9:00 pm. Johnny O'Neal is a seasoned pianist and singer who has worked regularly with musicians and groups such as Clark Terry, Ray Brown, Sonny Stitt, Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson and Milt Jackson's quartet. He is joined by Dave Young - bass and Terry Clarke - drums. There is a $20 cover.
