NYC: THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND

After sold out runs in 2009 & 2010, Thank You For Being A Friend returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) for its third limited-run engagement. Performances are Fridays, May 9th & 23rd at 10:00 pm and May 16th & & 30th at 7:00 pm. This unauthorized musical parody inspired by the beloved TV sitcom "The Golden Girls," features book by Nick Brennan, music by Jeff Thomson, and lyrics by Luke Jones and Cisco Cardenas. In the show four women over 60 (Blanchette, the varicose-veined vixen; Dorthea, the brainy ball-buster; Roz, the lovable airhead; and Sophie, the wisecracking spitfire) are spending their golden years together in a wicker-filled bungalow in Miami. But when gay pop superstar Ricky Martin moves next door, his loud outdoor sex parties keep the quartet of cheesecake-loving retirees awake. The solution pits the gays against the girls at the annual Shady Oaks Retirement Home Talent Show: if the women win, then no more sex parties; if the gays garner top prize, the sassy seniors must serve as the party's clean-up crew. Singing, dancing and hilarity ensues! This newly revised production will feature original cast members Chad Ryan, Luke Jones, and Nick Brennan with newcomer John De Los Santos. The production team features Jonathan Pennington (Director), Cisco Cardanez (Assistant Director/Stage Manager), John De Los Santos (Choreographer), Luke Jones and Nick Brennan (Set Design), Timothy Hart (Lighting), Jessa-Raye Court (Costumes) and Doug Repetti (Sound). There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum. Reservations athttps://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/929670

His first three albums, "Chromatosphere" (2009), "Patterns" [Buckyball Records], and "Evolution" [Buckyball Records], quickly gained international regard and critical acclaim, including a five page interview in Guitar Player Magazine (June 2009) highlighting his unique technique and approach to modern jazz guitar. From the outskirts of Philadelphia PA, Trevor Gordon Hall's compositions range in style from driving rhythms to soft melodic phrases. Trevor caught the eye of 9 time Grammy winning producer Joe Nicolo (James Taylor, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, etc.), who produced two of Trevor's releases entitled "Finding My Way" and "Let Your Heart Be Light". Trevor has collaborated with various builders to redesign an instrument called the kalimba, which mounts to the surface of the guitar.
