Benoit Viellefon presents his Hot Club at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Friday, May 9th ay 10:30 pm as part of the clubs Late Night Jazz series. Hot Club is inspired by the hot swinging music that emerged from the infamous Parisian Cafes and nightclubs of the 1920s & '30s. The Hot Club's show celebrates the burning excitement of those sizzling gypsy swing numbers made famous by Django Reinhardt, together with the romanticism of the finest musettes and waltzes from the French tradition. With a nod to the American jazz virtuosi who visited Paris, such as Louis Armstrong and Sidney Bechet, the Hot Club features both trumpet and clarinet alongside the timeless two-guitars and double bass lineup. The perfect mix of European finesse and the restless fervour of American swing, the Hot Club are the modern-day embodiment of the spirit of a bygone age. Call for cover/minimum information.
