NYC: FRANK TORREN - MOMENT TO MOMENT

2014 MAC AWARD nominee (Best Male Vocalist) Frank Torren will reprise his acclaimed 2013 show 'Moment to Moment' at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Sunday, May 4th at 4:00 pm; and Wednesdays, May 7th & 14th at 7:00 pm. Musical Director is Rick Unterberg. Theater has been a major part of Frank Torren's life since he was a young lad in the Latin Quarter of Tampa, Florida. His first theatrical pursuit was the lead in the school play, "The Little Dog Laughed." Soon he had teamed up with his sister to perform a dance act which toured all over and even was invited to a festival in Cuba. Over the years, Frank has devoted his professional life to theater, appearing in many musical comedies including Room Service, Say Darling, The Desk Set, Reluctant Debutante, Mary Mary, and the role of Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music. He performed with Diana Sands and Julius La Rosa in the first national tour of Hallelujah, Baby; had a costarring role in Zorba with Michael Kermoyan and Vivian Blaine; performed with Ann Reinking in Anything Goes and Jan Peerce in Fiddler on the Roof; toured in the National company of Seesaw with John Raitt and Liz Torres. Now Frank Torren's autobiographical show goes into its second chapter with "Moment to Moment." It's a whole new cavalcade of carefully-selected songs that have much professional and personal meaning for Frank. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: NOBODY DOES IT BETTER: THE GENIUS OF MARVIN HAMLISCH

Nobody Does It Better: The Genius of Marvin Hamlisch, will be presented at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Wednesday, May 7th at 7:00 & 9:30 pm. Under the musical direction of Jimmy Horan, members of the New York City Gay Men's Chorus pay tribute to Marvin Hamlish, a New York treasure who conquered Broadway, Pop and Film and captured the hearts of the whole world. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: LYN STANLEY - LOST IN ROMANCE

Lyn Stanley brings her show Lost in Romance to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, May 7th at 9:30 pm. Discovered in 2010 by world class jazz pianist and legend, Paul Smith, Lyn Stanley entered singing with the world's most famous accompanist, Paul Smith and his trio, four months after meeting her. Lyn Stanley entered the singing world through a side door-ballroom dancing. She began dancing in 2004 and took a fast study track to becoming a Pro/AM champion in ballroom dancing's International Standard style and won three events and two national titles in 2010. Her first one-woman show, "Makin' Whoopee" was well-received by audiences and critics creating a call for an album from her fans. The birth of her debut album "Lost In Romance" came from her idea to present ballroom dancing rhythms and tempos into jazz interpretations. After all, jazz was first heard in the dance halls and then navigated to the instrumental solos popular today. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: ROSEMARY ASHE - THE KILLER SOPRANO

West End favorite Rosemary Ashe will appear at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, May 7th at 7:00 pm. Rosie has appeared in many West End productions including: Carlotta, the Prima Donna in the original cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Phantom of The Opera', Madame Thenardier in 'Les Miserables', Widow Corney in 'Oliver!', Felicia Gabriel in 'The Witches of Eastwick' (for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Supporting Performance in a Musical, Miss Andrew, the nasty nanny in 'Mary Poppins', & Lottie Grady in 'When We Are Married' at The Garrick. She has recently been performing her one woman tribute to Ethel Merman: Call Me Merman, to great acclaim. She has also appeared with English National Opera, Opera North, Scottish Opera, Sadlers Wells Opera, Opera Northern Ireland & Carl Rosa in many different roles including Musetta in 'La Boheme', Helene in 'La Belle Helene', Frasquita in 'Carmen' & Despina in 'Cosi Fan Tutte' to name but a few. NYC: MARILYN MAYE REMEMBERS THE CARSON YEARS

The multi-talented Marilyn Maye appeared on Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show a record 76 times, more than any singer. Her newest show at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) presented on Tuesday & Wednesday, May 6th & 7th at 7:00 pm and Friday & Saturday, May 9th and 10th at 8:00 pm - plus an encore performance on Tuesday, May 13th at 7:00 pm will be both a musical salute and a compilation of many of the songs Marilyn performed on The Tonight Show. There is a $40-$65 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: MARK NADLER WITH RUNNIN' WILD: SONGS & SCANDALS OF THE ROARING TWENTIES

Award-winning entertainer Mark Nadler returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) with his show "Runnin' Wild: Songs & Scandals of the Roaring Twenties'". Performances are on Sunday, April 27th at 9:30 pm; Wednesday, April 30th at 9:30 pm; Wednesday, May 7th at 9:30 pm and Wednesday, May 14th at 7:00 pm. Mark takes you on a tour of the sex, booze, drugs & even murder from the wildest decade of the 20th century. Mark Nadler starred in and co-wrote the off-Broadway Gershwin revue, American Rhapsody, which was nominated for a Drama Desk and two Lucille Lortel Awards and received the Manhattan Association Of Cabarets (MAC) Award for Outstanding Musical Revue. Additionally, he received the MAC award three years in a row for outstanding Musical Comedy Performer and in 1990 Mark was given the MAC award for his performance of five different interacting characters in his one man "Opera in Honky-Tonk", Red Light, co-written with Dawn Hampton. For his show, Tschaikowsky (and Other Russians), which he performed in New York's Algonquin Hotel, Firebird Supper Club and San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater, as well as the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in Australia, Mark was awarded the 2003 Bistro Award for "Continuing To Raise The Standards Of Cabaret Performance." This show was transformed into a full theatrical event entitled Russian On The Side, for which Mark Nadler received San Francisco's prestigious Bay Area Theatre Critics' Circle Award for Outstanding Solo Performance. NYC: STEVE TYRELL AT THE CAFE CARLYLE

NYC cabaret favorite Steve Tyrell will perform at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) on Tuesdays through Saturdays, May 6th through 17th at 8:45 pm, with an added late show on Saturdays at 10:45 pm. (No show on Friday, May 9th). The Grammy Award-winning vocalist is truly a renaissance man. In his almost 5 decades in the music business, he has achieved great success as an artist, producer, songwriter, music supervisor, and performer. His hits "The Way You Look Tonight," "The Simple Life," "Crush On You" and "The Sunny Side of The Street," have launched thousands of weddings and millions of romances. He's held top positions at Standards, Swing, and Big Band outlets with a devoted following at key Adult Contemporary Radio. He has appeared with The Boston Pops, twice with The New York Pops, The Nashville Symphony, and The Houston Symphony on several occasions. In 2005, after the passing of the legendary Bobby Short, Steve was asked by New York City's Cafe Carlyle to take over their revered Holiday Season of November and December, which Mr. Short had not missed in 36 years. NYC: MAXINE LINEHAN: AN AMERICAN JOURNEY

After a sold out performance at BIRDLAND, actress/singer Maxine Linehan will next present a limited run of her solo show An American Journey, A universal story told through song, at TERMINUS RECORDING STUDIOS (723 Seventh Avenue, NYC). Performances are on Sundays & Wednesdays, April 27th through May 14th, all shows at 7:00 pm. For this event, Terminus will be converted into a "pop-up cabaret performance space". The theatrical concert was conceived for Maxine and is being directed by Scott Siegel, with musical direction by the award-winning Tracy Stark and decor by Christopher Studley. The Irish born Ms. Linehan, serves up a story that is both achingly personal and extraordinarily universal. In this one-hour performance, using a diverse catalogue of music that includes show tunes, country, and pop, she tells the story of leaving Ireland twelve years ago for life in America. Maxine taps into the shared experience of generation after generation of immigrants who have arrived in this country with big dreams and high hopes.
