NYC: BILL SOLLY WITH SIMON MULLIGAN AT DON'T TELL MAMA

Bill Solly, a writer of songs and musicals that hardly anyone's ever heard of, will perform at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) Friday, February 21st; and Monday, March 3rd, both shows at 7:00 pm. Billy has nevertheless had an interesting life, full of songs and stories about his adventures in Canada, London, New York and Los Angeles, and he can't wait to tell about them. He will be joined by the distinguished pianist Simon Mulligan and guest artists will be Carl Anthony Tramon (February 17th & March 3rd) and Elizabeth Inghram (February 21st & March 3rd). In Canada he contributed to My Fur Lady, Jubilee, Spring Thaw, Clap Hands, and many CBC radio and TV shows, but his focus was always musicals. Let the Piper Come, one of his first, was based on L.M. Montgomery's Rainbow Valley; then there was a big musical about the St. Lawrence Seaway called Strawberry that almost - but didn't happen. In England for fifteen years, Solly wrote for Maurice Chevalier, Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, Annie Ross, Danny La Rue, Marty Feldman, Matt Monro, Brigitte Bardot, Max Bygraves and George Burns, collaborated with Charles Aznavour, Serge Gainsbourg and Denis King, and had five (now six) productions in the West End: Sweet William, Ad Lib, Queen Passionella and the Sleeping Beauty, Danny La Rue at the Palace and The Great American Backstage Musical. The latter (book with Donald Ward) originated in Los Angeles. Also with Ward Solly has had six other musicals in New York including the 1975 Off Broadway hit Boy Meets Boy, recently premiered in London with great success. NYC: NIKKI MACCALLUM AT THE DUPLEX IN 'FAMILIAR THINGS'

Nikki MacCallum returns to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Fridays, February 21st & 28th at 7:00 pm with her new cabaret 'Familiar Things'. The show highlights the music of Kander & Ebb. With music direction and arrangements by Mark Hartman and direction by Kelvin Moon Loh, the show takes us from familiar childhood memories that one-day become unfamiliar to the unfamiliar challenges of adulthood that one-day become familiar. Throw in a middle school performance of Mr. Cellophane and Sara Lee as an eleven o'clock snack number and you have Familiar Things. The piece began development at the Eugene O'Neill Cabaret Conference this past summer, which was under the direction of John McDaniel. Nikki last performed at The Duplex in her show 'Matchmaker Matchmaker I'm Willing to Settle!' which earned a 2011 MAC Award Nomination. She was most recently featured at Birdland along side Donna McKechnie and Jerry Mitchell. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JAMIE HARTMANN AT THE MET

Jamie Hartmann will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, February 21st at 4:00 pm. Jamie is a professional singer/ actor who has appeared all over Southern California with such performers as Susan Egan, Matthew Morrison, Danny Gurwin and Michael Miguire. She comes from a very musical family and you could say performing is in her blood. The Metropolitan Room is a premiere venue and she looks forward to performing on that stage. Directed by Lennie Watts with Carlos Homs on the Piano. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: THE METROPOLITAN ROOM PRESENTS DENNIS DAY

Dennis Day will be appearing at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, February 21st at 7:00 pm. Day is no newcomer to the jazz scene. Since his New York debut in the 80s, his performances, vocal stylings, and the quality of his musical collaborations with world-class musicians have distinguished him as a solid performer of soul-jazz and standards. Day has performed New York's major jazz venues, as well as at the Vancouver Jazz Festival; Live! at the Woodrow Wilson Plaza in Washington, DC; Harlem Week; and the Portland International Jazz Festival. At the Metropolitan Room, Day will perform music from his award-winning CD, Dennis Day All Things In Time, on which he covers many styles within the jazz idiom, including bebop, ballads, and the blues. He will be joined by drummer Billy Kaye, whose adaptable swing and percussive technique has been enlisted by the likes of Monk, Gillespie, Gloria Lynn, and George Benson. NYC: TAMMIE BROWN: WALKING CHILDREN IN NATURE

RuPaul's Drag Race and RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars alum Tammie Brown makes her New York debut at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Friday & Saturday, February 21st & 22nd at 7:30 pm with WALKING CHILDREN IN NATURE. The show features many of Tammie's original songs, including "Clam Happy," "Love Pinata," and "Disco's Undead." Tammie Brown is a gay American singer, actor and drag performer, perhaps best known for his appearance as a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race, Season 1 and RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars. Currently, he is a fixture in the Southern California Drag scene. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, Tammie started his auspicious career performing as Cha Cha in the musical "Grease," and as the Wicked Stepmother in "Into the Woods." Dallas DuBois and her merry band of drag stars put a bawdy twist on some of your favorite pop culture icons in a series of cult hit pop culture revues whicj run on alternate Fridays at 10:00 pm at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909). The group presents the Magic Kindom themed DISTORTED DIZNEE, the Great White Way tribute DISTORTED BROADWAY and the new Silver Screen inspired DISTORTED HOLLYWOOD. NYC: LOVE IN THE MIDDLE AGES - A NEW MUSICAL ABOUT LOVE OVER 40!

LOVE IN THE MIDDLE AGES will be presented at STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) on Friday, February 21st at 7:00 pm. The show is a new musical about six very different people living in New York who meet at an adult mixer known as the "Over Forty Single Mingle". It is a laugh packed, tuneful examination and evaluation of love, life and dating. The book and lyrics are by Eric Kornfeld, most known for writing Bette Midler's Vegas extravaganza, THE SHOW GIRL MUST GO ON, also seen on HBO. The composer is Michelangelo Sosnowitz, co-writer of CRAZY HEAD SPACE, and the director/choreographer is Lisa Shriver, who choreographed the recent Broadway revival of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. A contemporary, pop score combined with real life tales makes for a memorable and uplifting night. There is a 2-drink minimum.
