NYC: BILL SOLLY WITH SIMON MULLIGAN AT DON'T TELL MAMA

Bill Solly, a writer of songs and musicals that hardly anyone's ever heard of, will perform at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Monday, February 17th; Friday, February 21st; and Monday, March 3rd, all shows at 7:00 pm. Billy has nevertheless had an interesting life, full of songs and stories about his adventures in Canada, London, New York and Los Angeles, and he can't wait to tell about them. He will be joined by the distinguished pianist Simon Mulligan and guest artists will be Carl Anthony Tramon (February 17th & March 3rd) and Elizabeth Inghram (February 21st & March 3rd). In Canada he contributed to My Fur Lady, Jubilee, Spring Thaw, Clap Hands, and many CBC radio and TV shows, but his focus was always musicals. Let the Piper Come, one of his first, was based on L.M. Montgomery's Rainbow Valley; then there was a big musical about the St. Lawrence Seaway called Strawberry that almost - but didn't happen. In England for fifteen years, Solly wrote for Maurice Chevalier, Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, Annie Ross, Danny La Rue, Marty Feldman, Matt Monro, Brigitte Bardot, Max Bygraves and George Burns, collaborated with Charles Aznavour, Serge Gainsbourg and Denis King, and had five (now six) productions in the West End: Sweet William, Ad Lib, Queen Passionella and the Sleeping Beauty, Danny La Rue at the Palace and The Great American Backstage Musical. The latter (book with Donald Ward) originated in Los Angeles. Also with Ward Solly has had six other musicals in New York including the 1975 Off Broadway hit Boy Meets Boy, recently premiered in London with great success. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: CAROL DALY AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

An exciting and versatile performer, Carol Daly will sing selections from the American Songbook and jazz classics with new arrangements and a fresh approach at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, February 17th at 7:00 pm. Accompanying Carol is Nathan Kaplan on Piano, Everett Boyd on Bass & Marc Copell on drums. Carol has performed in cabaret clubs, restaurants, culture festivals, artistic and community driven venues. For Carol, music is a passion and a healing art. She has integrated jazz, blues, pop and musical theatre in to her singing style and is described as a gifted singer with a mellifluous, warm resonance to her voice that comes straight from the heart. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: MADE IN BROOKLYN - WITH RANDY GRAFF

George Gershwin. Carole King. Betty Comden. Harry Nilsson. Barry Manilow. Barbra Streisand. What do these great writers and artists have in common? They were all born in Brooklyn! Also from the fourth largest city in America is Tony Award winner Randy Graff (City of Angels, Les Miserables), who will sing the music of artists from her hometown at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday, February 17th at 7:00 pm & Wednesday, March 5th at 9:30 pm, backed up by a slammin' trio of musicians. Made in Brooklyn is the personal and musical story of Randy herself - one more great performer from Canarsie! There is a $35-$55 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: CUTTING-EDGE COMPOSERS: 5TH EDITION

Cutting-Edge Composers: 5th Edition will be presented at 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday, February 17th at 9:30 pm. Cutting-Edge Composers is a concert series that strives to create greater exposure for up-and-coming songwriters by providing them with venues, publicity, Broadway performers and musicians to best showcase their material. After sold-out shows at the Canal Room, NYMF, and Joe's Pub, Cutting-Edge Composers is thrilled to be presenting their fifth concert 5th concert as their debut at 54 Below! The concert, featuring brand new songs from new musicals in the works, is directed and produced by Laura Pietropinto with musical direction by Julie McBride and Benjamin Rauhala. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: LATE NIGHT: DAVID ALAN THORNTON VS. THE BUNNY SUICIDES

David Alan Thornton has escaped and he's at it again! He returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday, February 17th at 11:30 pm with David Alan Thornton Vs. the Bunny Suicides - an evening of fun, feelings, fruity love stories, robots with identity crises, determined hippopotamuses (yes, it's the correct plural), and BUNNY SUICIDES! Featuring an all-star cast and a terrific band, the night and the music are sure to make you laugh, sigh, snort, cry, and feel darn good. Featuring: Tituss Burgess, Natalie Weiss, Zachary Prince, Leo Ash Evens, Jeremy Morse, Lauren Marcus, Eric William Morris, Michael Deleget, Jonathan Reid Gealt, Mark Sanderlin, Rachel Lee, Dustin Sullivan, Starr Busby, Lorinda Lisitza, Ashley Travis and Jared Marcel Weiss. NYC: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS - NOW AT THE IGUANA

Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. There is a $15 cover (at the door) plus a $15 food drink minimum.
