BOSTON: MICHEL CAMILO AT SCULLERS

Composer and pianist extraordinaire Michel Camilo performs at SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB (400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111) on Saturday, February 22nd at 8:00 pm. Camilo is a bandleader, lecturer, and visiting professor. He is a chart-topping producer; a Grammy, Latin Grammy and Emmy award winner. He is the recipient of his native country's highest civilian honors. Michel Camilo is all of these things and more, wrapped in a human being of boundless enthusiasm, musical passion, and love of life. The artistry and virtuosity of Michel Camilo bridges the genres of Jazz, Classical, Popular and World music. He is a pianist with a brilliant technique and a composer who flavors his tunes with the spice of Caribbean rhythms and jazz harmonies. Dinner/Show: $85 Show only: $45.

BOSTON: BILL EVANS' SOULGRASS AT THE REGATTABAR

Saxophonist Bill Evans will perform at THE REGATTABAR at the Charles Hotel (1 Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-395-7757) on Saturday, February 22nd at 7:30 pm. Evans first joined Miles Davis group in 1980 at the age of 22, and went on to record six records and tour the world with Davis numerous times over a four-year period. He then toured and recorded three CDs with John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and later played with Herbie Hancock, Lee Ritenour, Dave Grusin, Steps Ahead and Mick Jagger, among others, garnering a few Grammy Awards along the way. The sax man has been touring almost exclusively with his own band since 1990, playing well over 100 concerts worldwide per year. He has recorded 18 solo CDs, including his latest, Dragonfly, and received two Grammy nominations for his solo releases, one for Soul Insider (2002) and the other for Soulgrass (2006). There is a $30 cover.

TORONTO: VITO REZZA AND "5 AFTER 4"

Vito Rezza And "5 After 4" perform at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Thursday through Saturday, February 20th through 22nd at 9:00 pm. Toronto-based Rezza is known as a drummer's drummer, the kind of player who awes his peers. There is far more to Vito Rezza than superb stickhandling skills, however. He is also a bandleader and composer with a string of highly-acclaimed albums under his belt. For the past 22 years, Rezza has led Canadian ensemble 5 After 4, and the band has opened for the likes of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Spyro Gyra, Kevin Eubanks, Boss Brass, and Joe Henderson. 5 After 4 released their sixth record, Rome In A Day, last year, on the ALMA Records label. The eleven-track disc featured six Rezza original compositions, and it confirmed he's at the peak of his powers in all his different roles. Rounding out the ensemble: keyboardist Matt Horner, an accomplished and creative musician whose career spans four decades; Juno-nominated bassist Pat Kilbride, who has appeared on over 200 recordings; and the highly in-demand saxophonist John Johnson, who has worked with everyone from Aretha Franklin to Diana Krall. D.C.: KIM WATERS AT BLUES ALLEY

Kim Waters will perform atBLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Thursday through Sunday, February 20th through 23rd with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Kim has enjoyed a career longevity that is rare in the music business. For close to two decades the saxophonist, composer and producer has been one of the premier architects of Urban Smooth Jazz and a beacon of light in contemporary jazz. He has garnered praise from critics and fans alike, amassing record sales of over a million albums and ranks among the top five best-selling instrumentalists in jazz. Kim Waters' music has fine-tuned the perfect combination of sensitivity and brawn, intellect and emotion and technique and soulfulness. Call for cover/minimum information.

D.C.: KRIS FUNN & CORNERSTORE AT BOHEMIAN CAVERNS

Kris Funn & Cornerstore will appear atBOHEMIAN CAVERNS (2001 Eleventh Street N.W., Washington, DC - 202-299-0800) on Friday & Saturday, February 21st & 22nd with shows at 8:30 & 10:30 pm. Kristopher Funn was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He began playing the trumpet at age four and took up the double bass at age 14 upon entering high school. Through the instruction of his father, Charles Funn, Kristopher performed his first professional bass gig the same year he began learning the instrument. Other early accomplishments included winning the "unsung hero" at the Fish Middleton jazz competition at the East Coast Jazz festival also in the first year of instruction. At age 18, Kristopher attended Howard University to study Computer Science while also performing in the Howard University Jazz Ensemble for two years. After graduating with an honors degree in computer science, Kristopher decided to pursue a career as a professional jazz musician, performing in several venues in the Baltimore Washington metropolitan areas. At age 23, Kristopher began touring internationally with alto saxophonist Kenny Garrett. Since then, he has traveled to every major jazz festival in the world touching six continents performing with artists including Bruce Williams, Nicholas Payton, Pharoah Sanders, Jeff Majors, Jeff Lorber, and many others. Kristopher has appeared on several recordings including the Christian Scott albums, "Yesterday You Said Tomorrow" and Christian aTunde Adjuah on the Concord Jazz label. He continues to perform professionally in the Washington D.C. area while touring with the Christian Scott Quintet. There is a $20 cover.

MARYLAND: THE SOUL CRACKERS WITH TOMMY LEPSON

The Soul Crackers with Tommy Lepson will perform atBETHESDA BLUES & JAZZ SUPPER CLUB (7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD - 240-330-4500 - ) on Saturday, February 22nd at 8:00 pm. SOUL CRACKERS has been spreading joy and making DC audiences dance to the music for 30 years now. Lead vocalist Tommy Lepson is in the Washington Area Music Association Hall of Fame, having won multiple awards for Best Vocalist, performs internationally, and was recently featured at the Montreux Jazz & Blues Festival. Soul Crackers music, including their crackerjack horn section, encompasses Memphis & Motown soul, and features timeless songs. The Soul Crackers are: Tommy Lepson (lead Vocals and guitar); Ronnie Newmyer (bass and vocals); Chuck Sullivan (drums); Spencer Hoopes (organ and vocals); Dave Egelhofer (lead guitar and vocals); Wayne Sulc (sax); and Chris Hutton (trumpet). FLORIDA: REGIS PHILBIN MAKES ROYAL ROOM DEBUT

Regis Philbin makes his club debut at THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL(155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100) on Tuesday through Saturday, February 18th through 22nd at 8:30 pm. A beloved TV personality known for his emotional outbursts and uniquely inflected speech, Regis Philbin first came to national prominence as Joey Bishop's sidekick on the comedian's eponymous late-1960s talk show. It took another decade of various on-air gigs before Philbin hit it big as the host of WABC's local Manhattan morning show in 1983. Kathie Lee Gifford joined him as co-host in 1985, and in 1988 their series, renamed Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, went into national syndication and turned them into superstars. Over the years, Philbin was tapped to host a number of other shows (Walt Disney specials, prime-time game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire) and appeared as himself in countless movies and television shows. He also weathered Gifford's 2000 departure and found great chemistry with her replacement, Kelly Ripa. In 2004, after over 15,000 hours on national television, Philbin entered the record books as the most filmed personality ever. $150 for prix fixe dinner & show.
