NYC: JOAN JAFFE'S 'FOOD' AT THE ABINGDON THEATRE
2012 MAC Award winner Joan Jaffe is excited to present her newest show Joan Jaffe's FOOD at DOROTHY STRELSIN THEATRE OF THE ABINGDON THEATRE COMPLEX (312 West 36th Street, NYC - 866-811-4111) on Sunday, February 16th at 7:00 pm. The show is a smorgasbord of comedy and music! Hear Joan sing songs about FOOD - most funny, some very tasteful and some obscure. Joan won the Best Musical Comedy Performer - 2012 MAC Award for her show Joan Jaffe's MAN-ha-ha-ha-TAN. Her CD Joan Jaffe Sings Funny eceived exciting accolades from the press. Joan was featured with her late husband Hal Blankenship as Burt & Lizzie in the award winning film THE SAVAGES. She has written & directed several cabaret acts and is also the Performance Director of the Steps On Broadway (NYC) Vocal Performance Workshop for Dancers. Musical Director is the internationally acclaimed jazz musician Matt Baker and Adam Kabak is on Double Bass. Consultant and additional lyrics by Rob Lester. New York drag queen, Robin Kradles, makes her solo cabaret debut with 'ICONS: A Tribute' at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-54380 on Sunday, February 16th at 4:30 pm. The show is a tribute to the women who have influenced her glamorous style. Songs by or about Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe, Shirley Bassey, Ann-Margaret, Madonna, Pink and more populate this entertaining show. Directed by Lennie Watts with Musical Direction by Rick Jensen. Special guest performer at each show. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: KEVIN BURKE IN I LOVE TO SEE YOU SMILE!
After taking his show "You've Got a Friend in Me" to various NYC cabaret venues in 2012 and 2013, Kevin Burke is premiering his new show "I Love to See You Smile!" atTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-04400 on Sunday, February 16th at 4:00 pm. The show is a celebration and exploration of happy moments, full of great songs, both old and new where the audience will be charmed to remember fond memories and share new ones. Classic songs from the American Songbook will merge with rediscovered findings and not so well-known songs, all bringing moments of joy and smiles. This is really a sophisticated "feel good show" and Kevin knows how to tell a story like very few performers. The show is directed by Collette Black with musical direction provided by Norma Jeanne Curley. It is produced by Manhattan Cabaret Arts and Miguel Pedraza-Cumba. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: RICHARD SKIPPER CELEBRATES EILEEN FULTON
A special interview show featuring soap star Eileen Fulton will be held at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-04400 on Sunday, February 16th at 7:00 pm. The show is a benefit on behalf of Habitat for Humanity. Eileen Fulton is an American actress known for her role as Lisa Grimaldi on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns, a role that she played almost continuously for 50 years from May 18, 1960 until the show's ending on September 17, 2010. Richard and Eileen will sit down for an intimate chat to discuss her career and life and the people she has worked with for the first forty-five minutes. The last fifteen minutes will be comprised of questions from the audience. Eileen will meet and greet the audience upstairs afterward. Habitat for Humanity's mission: Habitat for Humanity believes that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. They build and repair houses all over the world using volunteer labor and donations. Partner families purchase these houses through no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans or innovative financing methods. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
MARK JANAS' SALON AT ETCETERA ETCETERA - "SEX AND THE SALON"
SALON - that unique, Multiple Award Winning, Weekly Open Mic Event, created and hosted by Mark Janas continues at ETCETERA ETCETERA(352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141) on Sundays from 7:00 to 10:30 pm (sign-up begins at 6:15 pm). The optional theme for Sunday, February 16th is "Sex and the Salon". Co-Host will be Janice Hall. In the Salon Spotlight: Christine Reisner & Don Rebic.
