NYC: FRENCHIE DAVIS PRESENTS THE FRENCH AND KAT SHOW
Broadway star, Frenchie Davis, along with her musical soulmate/non-sexual lifeMORE NEW YORK CITY CABARET EVENTS FOR TONIGHT partner, pianist and comedian Kathryn Lounsbery, proudly present THE FRENCH & KAT SHOW at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Saturday, February 8th at 7:00 pm; Sunday, February 9th at 4:00 pm; and Monday, February 10th at 7:00 pm. This Pop Cabaret is one part Bach, two parts Kander & Ebb, a dash of Britney, and a sprinkle of Clair Huxtable all served in a Blanche Devereaux martini glass - neat. French and Kat draw audiences to their voluptuous musical bosoms with legit, inventive, and soulful arrangements of songs spanning every decade. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: DIANE MARINO QUARTET AT LE CIRQUE CAFE
The Diane Marino Quartet will make their debut performance at "Musical Mondays" at the elegant LE CIRQUE CAFE (151 East 58th Street, NYC - 212-644-0202) on Monday, February 10th at 8:00 pm. They will perform an evening of classic Jazz standards and beautiful Brazilian Bossa Nova and Samba. The quartet features Diane Marino: Piano/Vocals; Harry Allen : Sax; Frank Marino : Bass; Alvin Atkinson: Drums. There is now cover charge. Jackets are kindly suggested for gentlemen, but not required.
NYC: ANDREA MCARDLE - DREAM ROLES
Broadway's original Annie, Andrea McArdle, returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) with an all-new show "Dream Rolse". Performances are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday & Thursday, February 10th, 12th & 13th at 7:00 pm and Friday & Saturday, February 14th & 15th at 8:00 pm. This fresh musical outing celebrates the power and magic of performing "that great role." Lovers and liars, heroes and villains, elegant ladies and outrageous broads, there is nothing that excites the imagination more than watching a classic character come to vivid life on stage. In Dream Roles, Andrea brings her soaring vocals to some of the theatre's greatest roles, the roles she's loved, the roles she's played and the roles she's always dreamed of performing. At the same time, Dream Roles showcases the dynamic melodies of Broadway's musical masters: Sondheim, Herman, Lloyd Webber, Menken and many more. Join Andrea as she pulls back the curtain and turns up the spotlight on her greatest theatrical inspirations along with a few surprises. There is a $35-$60 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum. Special $69 Prix Fixe dinner on the 14th.
NYC: JOSHUA HENRY - THIS IS THE LOVE
Get in the mood for Valentine's Day with soulfully spun arrangements of Broadway love songs, standards and original tunes, in "This is the Love", performed by Joshua Henry, star of Broadway's Porgy and Bess, The Scottsboro Boys and American Idiot at 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday, February 10th at 9:30 pm. . As a follow-up to his sold out "Soul Weakness" concert, this Tony Award nominee shares unique renditions that blend the current with the classic, in his 54 Below debut. There is a $30-$30 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
NYC: ARI GOLD AT JOE'S PUB
After being knighted by the Imperial Court of New York, Billboard Top 10, Independent Music Award Winner and 3x Outmusic "Visionary Award" recipient, Sir Ari Gold returns to JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) for one night, on Monday, February 10th at 9:30 pm to perform songs from his remixed retrospective PLAY MY F**KN REMIX - spanning 15 years - including his #1 Logo video hits (more than any artist on the network). Ari says has performed at festivals, stadiums, theaters, dance clubs, coffee houses and dive bars all over the world and nothing compares to the times he's performed at Joe's Pub over the last 15 years. He concludes: "No matter if I perform with dancers, singers, a band, jazz trio or just a piano, the vibe at Joe's Pub is such that before I even get on the stage, they get and appreciate the kind of queer, pop, Jewy, theatrical, 4th generation lower east side artist I am." There is a $25 cover.
