NYC: GREGORY GENERET AT THE IRIDIUM
ScoBar Entertainment presents Gregory Generet at THE IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB(1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121) on Tuesday, February 11th with shows at 8:30 & 10:30 pm. Generet worked for 30 years in television as a post-production editor. Three Emmy Awards and some years later Generet found himself artistically unfulfilled. The desire to hone his craft as a singer became the main goal in his life. Carefully listening to and studying the great jazz players/singers for years was an education, as well as spending time in clubs. An easy rapport with other artists when out listening to them, enabled him to form friendships with many renowned musicians, some of whom he has been working with over the last few years. Pianist, producer and arranger, Onaje Allan Gumbs produced his debut CD, "(re)generet-ion". The leap happened organically. By the time he put out his first CD, he was already way ahead of the pack. He was hatched fully grown, changing styles along the way. He emerged onto the scene a mature, elegant artist. Exploring the theme of romance, Generet added his unique style to some well-known standards. There is a $25 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
