NYC: CHRISTINA BIANCO'S BIRTHDAY BASH

After her triumphant appearance on "The Ellen Degeneres Show," Christina Bianco returns to BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Monday, February 10th at 7:00 pm. It will be a celebratory evening of music, divas and impressions, in honorof her birthday! Join Christina and musical director Brad Simmons for a party-of-a-show, with all new material including songs, sketches and surprise special guests! After a video impersonating 19 superstars singing "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" went viral (over 4 million hits), Bianco has been traveling the world with her acclaimed one-woman show, recently completing a sold-out run at London's Hippodrome. Praised for her work in Forbidden Broadway and Newsical The Musical, Bianco's versatile vocals and celebrity impressions entertain and connect with audiences of all ages. Christina received a Drama Desk award nomination for her work in Forbidden Broadway, Goes To Rehab, and originated the role of Dora in the long-running national tour of Dora The Explorer Live, including a sold-out run at Radio City Music Hall. Her New York credits include: Raffi On Broadway (Gershwin Theatre), Forbidden Broadway Dances With The Stars and Tony and Tina's Wedding (Tina). A MAC award nominated cabaret artist, Christina performed weekly in an unprecedented eight-month run of 11 O'Clock Numbers at Feinstein's at Loews Regency. She has performed her acclaimed solo show, Diva Moments, to sold out crowds at Birdland in NYC, in Chicago & Baltimore, on various cruise lines and recently at London's Hippodrome. Christina frequently performs in concert as a soloist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. NYC: JIM CARUSO'S "CAST PARTY" MONDAYS AT BIRDLANDFEATURED OPEN MIC EVENT

Every Monday night at 9:30 pm, Broadway impresario Jim Caruso hosts "Cast Party", a combination open-mic, networking event and party atBIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) during which the biggest stars on Broadway relax on their night off by performing their favorite songs in an informal setting. Cast Party is a mix of music, impromptu performance and cocktail party revelry, where showbiz superstars, stunning jazz talents and cabaret glitterati hit the stage alongside up-and-comers to serve up jaw-dropping music and general razzle-dazzle. It's the ultimate spot to mix and mingle with talented show folk and their fans. There is a $20 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

NYC: INTERNATIONAL GUITAR NIGHT AT THE BLUE NOTE

International Guitar Night will be held at THE BLUE NOTE (131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) on Monday, February 10th with shows at 8:00 & 10:30 pm. The International Guitar Night (IGN) is the world's premier touring guitar festival, each show bringing together the most interesting and innovative acoustic guitarists to exchange musical ideas in a public concert setting. For each tour, IGN founder Brian Gore invites a new cast of guitar luminaries to join him for special evenings of solos, duets, and quartets that highlight the dexterity and diversity within the world of acoustic guitar. Brian founded IGN in 1995 as a forum for the world's finest guitarists/ composers to play their latest original songs and share musical ideas and talent with their peers. This year IGN's North American tour features Pino Forastiere, Mike Dawes, Quique Sinesi and Brian Gore. There is a $15-$25 cover.

NYC: HILARY KOLE AT THE IRIDIUM

ScoBar Entertainment presents Hilary Kole at THE IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB (1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121) on Monday, February 10th with shows at 8:30 & 10:30 pm. Vocalist Hilary Kole's current release "You Are There," (Justin Time/JVC Japan) is a compilation of piano and vocal duets with some of the greatest artists in the history of jazz piano including Dave Brubeck, the late Hank Jones and many more. It is a follow-up to her debut recording produced by John Pizzarelli, "Haunted Heart" (Justin Time) which was released to critical acclaim in April of 2009, winning the Gold Disc Award in Japan, and receiving 4 stars in Downbeat Magazine. Both recordings are testaments to Hilary's musicianship and versatility as an artist in a career that started in a slightly different vein: Hilary Kole youngest performer at RAINBOW ROOM circa 1998. After studying composition at Manhattan School of Music, Hilary began performing as a vocalist at the legendary Rainbow Room as the youngest singer ever to grace the stage. Throughout the world Hilary has headlined at the Umbria Jazz Festival, The Montreal Jazz Festival, The Nairn Jazz Festival in Scotland, and the Cotton Club and Blue Note in Japan. She also travels the country performing an orchestral show with pops orchestras. There is a $25 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: ULYSSES OWENS AT DIZZY'S

Ulysses Owens and his band - With Ulysses Owens, drums; Duane Eubanks, trumpet; Michael Dease, trombone; Gilad Hekselman, guitar; Christian Sands, piano; Reuben Rogers, bass (2/10 only); and Matthew Rybicki, bass (2/11 only) - will perform at DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Monday & Tuesday, February 10th & 11th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. In just the past few years, Ulysses Owens, Jr. has performed at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola with artists including Christian McBride, Steve Wilson, Mulgrew Miller, and Steve Nelson. One of the most high-profile sidemen, this GRAMMY Award winner and DownBeat Rising Star now takes the lead role in celebration of his new CD, Onward & Upward. While his previous release featured originals and iconic jazz tunes by artists like Wayne Shorter and Lee Morgan, his upcoming release will expand the repertoire to include artists such as The Stylistics, Prince, and Michael Jackson. Check out these sets for some no-frills performances by some of the most ambitious and in-demand musicians of their generation, including two of Wynton Marsalis' picks for "Who's Got Next" in jazz.
