NYC: CYRILLE AIMEE AT BIRDLAND

Jazz vocalist Cyrille Aimee will perform at
BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Tuesday through Saturday, February 10th through 15th with shows at 8:30 & 11:00 pm. Aimee has a culturally rich background (Dominican and French Gypsy) and conservatory training (SUNY Purchase) that help to form the rhythmic and expressive foundation by which a jury of legendary vocalists including Al Jarreau, Kurt Elling, Dianne Reeves and Dee Dee Bridgewater judged her to be a finalist in the prestigious Thelonious Monk Vocal Competition in 2010. At the young age of twenty-six, Cyrille has since become one of the hottest young artists on the New York scene. She has already released four CDs with a variety of ensembles and performed at the top venues around the world. There is a $40 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

Nicole Henrey celebrates Valentine's Week at
THE BLUE NOTE (131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) on Tuesday & Wednesday, February 11th & 12th with shows at 8:00 & 10:30 pm. Celebrate with Nicole as she sings some of her favorite songs about the power of passion, and the longing for love. Swinging and soulful, Ms. Henry weaves love songs from 1920s Gershwin, to 1960s Bacharach, to early 1980s soul, into a heart-felt, artistic statement, and a touching experience. Since her debut in 2004, Nicole Henry has established herself as one of the jazz world's most acclaimed vocalists, possessing a potent combination of dynamic vocal abilities, impeccable phrasing, and powerful emotional resonance. Her repertoire includes the American Songbook, classic and contemporary jazz, contemporary' standards, blues, and originals; while her accompaniment ranges from a simple jazz trio to a full big band. There is a $15-$25 cover.
NYC: ANDROMEDA TURRE AT THE IRIDIUM

ScoBar Entertainment presents Andromeda Turre at
THE IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB(1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121) on Wednesday, February 12th with shows at 8:30 & 10:30 pm. Vocalist / Songwriter Andromeda Turre will be debuting her new collection of songs, "Kiss Me". Andromeda who currently stars in Sleep No More and does background vocals at Saturday Night Live, has toured 17 countries with her own band as well as being the last Raelette hired to sing background vocals for Ray Charles. An accomplished songwriter, she has released four albums, the last of which you can hear on various TV shows on MTV and VH1 in addition to playing in H&M, Bebe and Ab dercrombie & Fitch stores nationwide. There is a $25 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
NYC: KENNY RAMPTON ORGAN OCTET AT DIZZY'S
The Kenny Rampton Organ Octet performs at DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Wednesday, February 12th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Trumpeter extraordinaire Kenny Rampton, known in part as a member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and Mingus Big Band, leads an all-star octet for one night only at Dizzy's. The group includes legendary blues guitarist and vocalist Bill Sims, fellow JLCO members Sherman Irby and Elliot Mason, saxophonist Donny McCaslin, and an inspired rhythm section of Brian Charette, Dan Stein, and Tony Mason. Expect to witness virtuosic musicianship channeled through a fusion of jazz, blues, and funk. This unique and still unrecorded octet features some of the best living soloists in jazz! There is a $30 cover.
