"Damaged Care," The Musical Comedy about Health Care in America, written and performed by The Singing Doctors: Greg LaGana, M.D., and Barry Levy, M.D., returns to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788), with performances on Saturday, November 23rd at 4:30 pm and Sunday, November 24th at 3:00 pm. Musical direction and original music is by Brad Ross, and the show is directed by Michael Schiralli. Greg and Barry were medical school classmates at Cornell Medical College in New York in the late 1960'. Greg is an internist at Merck and Schering-Plough pharmaceutical companies in New Jersey, and Barry is a specialist in occupational and environmental medicine and an Adjunct Professor at Tufts Medical School. Damaged Care highlights issues of great concern to health professionals and the general public, including managed care, reduced insurance coverage, the dehumanization of health care, hospital mergers, the inadequate emphasis on prevention, "cost containment," medical errors, and the threat of "superbugs" and Obamacare. "Damaged Care" has been performed 130 times in 28 states and Canada since 1996. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
