LONDON CABARET TONIGHT: ROBERT HABERMANN - MAD ABOUT THE MOVIES
Robert Habermann's Great American Songbook Series presents MAD ABOUT MOVIES - The Story of the Hollywood Musical from 1927, when Al Jolson uttered the immortal words "You Ain't Heard Nothing Yet!" at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Thursday, August 29th at 8:00 pm. Robert Habermann, voted New York's Best International Performer of the Manhattan Cabaret, was discovered by legendary American singer Margaret Whiting. He has lived in the USA, where he has undertaken several major tours and where he was lucky to meet many of the composers of the Great American Songbook. He has performed with Margaret Whiting, Kay Starr, Steve Ross, Rosemary Squires and the late Loonis McGlohan, who wrote songs for Sinatra. He has been the lead singer for a number of Big Bands and has performed at Purcell Room, London's South Bank Centre, the Royal Albert Hall, London Palladium, London's Pizza On The Park, The Pheasantry, Pizza Express and many other venues in the UK. Tonight's programme includes: The Trolley Song, 42nd Street, Too Marvellous For Words, My Foolish Heart, Moonlight Becomes You, True Love and many more film hits, climaxing with a medley of twenty Oscar-winning songs.
