CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: "BLUE IVY CARTER: A NIGHT OF SONGS" WITH HENRY PENNING
Henry Penning Koperski and Katie Mack take you on a trip through pop music of the last 20-something years in their show "Blue Ivy Carter: A night of songs" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, August 25th at 7:00 pm. With the help of a full rock band and surprise special guests, the show will be flooded with nostalgia from the early 90's until last summer. Henry Penning is an entertainer/composer who has performed in a wide variety of performance arts all over the world. As a saxophonist, he has performed and won awards in jazz, pop, and R&B bands in clubs, festivals, cruise ships, and theaters. As an accordionist, Henry has played in symphony orchestras, gypsy jazz groups, latin jazz ensembles, and of course polka bands. Playing piano and singing, Henry regularly performs with two different rock bands, accompanies and performs in cabarets all over the city, and has played for Off-Broadway theatre. He has had the pleasure of performing with Kurt Elling, Paquito D'Rivera, Ludwig Wicki, Janis Siegel, Kim Zimmer, Schuyler Iona Press, and many more. Henry is also a composer of pop and theatre music. He hails from Grand Rapids, MI, and has been living in New York since early 2012. There is a $17.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
