The Jason Palmer Septet will salute the music of Minnie Riperton at SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB (400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111) on Wednesday, August 28th at 8:00 pm. Boston-based trumpeter Jason Palmer continues his rise to stardom on the national and international music scene. Whether it's sharing the stage with Grace Kelly and Phil Woods at the Hollywood Bowl or Jack DeJohnette at the Newport Jazz Festival, he is sure to bring a fiery, heart-warming tone to the souls of concertgoers worldwide. Now you can join him in celebrating the critically-acclaimed release of his latest project on SteepleChase Records entitled Take a Little Trip, which pays homage to 70's songstress Minnie Riperton. This will be the US premier of the 4-star (out of 5) rated album (from Downbeat Magazine) and will feature creative arrangements of classic songs from Minnie's songbook including Loving You, Memory Lane, and Inside my Love.
