Dion Parsons and the 21st Century Band (Dion Parson, Drums; Ron Blake, Sax; Reuben Rogers, Bass; Carlton Holmes, Piano; Victor Provost, Steel Pan; Alioune Faye, Percussion/Sabar) perform atDIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) Thursday through Sunday, June 27th through 30th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Combining Caribbean rhythms with jazz, pop, and reggae harmonies, drummer Dion Parson and his 21st Century Band create an infectiously joyous sound. With virtuosic leads from all members of the band, including steel pan and sabor, in addition to standard jazz instrumentation, the group shines at all times and will keep heads nodding and feet tapping. Featuring original compositions, as well as songs recorded by artists such as John Coltrane, Bob Marley, and Louis Armstrong, this set at Dizzy's is a guaranteed good time.
