WASHINGTON, DC: ANGELA WINBUSH AT BLUES ALLEY
Angela Winbush, a "three-hyphen" musician (producer- arranger-composer-performer) will perform at BLUES ALLEY(1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Thursday through Saturday, February 26th through 28th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Originally part of the duo Rene and Angela, and is still around today, creating enveloping tracks with layers of keyboards, gorgeous melodic hooks and lush vocals. Winbush has a powerful voice, an exceptional range and a unique style, she started out as a backup singer for Stevie Wonder. She's one of a handful of women in her generation - along with Patrice Rushen and Brenda Russell - who produced not only their own material but also other artists', working extensively with, among others, the Isley Brothers. Winbush has had a long list of career accomplishments. She is the rare female African-American producer-writer and has worked with Janet Jackson, Sheena Easton and Stephanie Mills. Winbush also scored top 10 hits with "Your Smile," "You Don't Have to Cry," "My First Love" and "Save Your Love (for #1)." Acts including Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Nas, Foxy Brown and Avant have embraced her music. There is a $43 cover.
WASHINGTON, DC: TIM GREEN AT BOHEMIAN CAVERNS
Tim Green, native of Baltimore, Maryland, and a well-known saxophonist, composer and arranger, will perform at BOHEMIAN CAVERNS (2001 Eleventh Street N.W., Washington, DC - 202-299-0800) on Friday & Saturday, February 27th & 28th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Tim was inspired by a family of musicians to get involved with music at the young age of 10. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music in 2004, where he studied with world-renowned instructors such as Dick Oatts, Gary Dail, Bob Mintzer and Steve Slagle. In May 2007, Tim graduated from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz at the University of Southern California with a masters degree in Jazz Studies. There is a $20 cover.

What began forty years ago as Harvey Hubcap and the Do Ron Ron has evolved into The Fabulous Hubcaps, one of the nation's most sought after oldies show bands. On any given month, their schedule may take them from Miami to Pittsburgh, Atlanta to Detroit, or Albany to Washington, DC.
